They probably don’t realise how well you have to play to control the game like that for large parts, against us at SJP. Maybe they weren’t that sharp in the final third (by their standards), but equally, we also defended very well for the most part.

Virtually none existent.

Legal - yes Moral - probably not

His awareness of what was around him was, I think, the best I’ve ever seen live. Seemed to be turning away from players before the ball had even reached him.
-
Would have been insane and stupid to have got in a third choice striker on 150k p/w. Unless you wanted him instead of Wissa or Woltermade, which is a different discussion, but probably not one you’ll find much agreement with.

This is exactly the type of stuff we need from mainstream media. The more it starts becoming a high ticket news issue, the more difficult it is for clubs / the PL / government to not do anything about the ticket reseller sites. https://x.com/danroan/status/1968930197962371578?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ

It was definitely just cramp he went off with, but equally, given the short turnaround for Bournemouth, it’s probably wise to sit him out of that one.

There was a bloke on TalkSport (would never normally listen but mate had it on in the car on the way home) who said he normally sits near pitch side, but was moved seats as the club had to give his normal one up to UEFA sponsors. Said he went down and spoke to the bloke that was sitting there and he told him he’d paid loads for it from a resale site. Which is probably indicative of what happens to a lot of these tickets. Club forced to give UEFA X amount, who then pass on to sponsors. Person who ends up with ticket thinks ‘I’d rather have X hundred pound, thank you very much’, and they go straight on the reseller sites.

Didn’t feel much like celebrating it last night, but that fairly weak shot straight at the keeper from Tonali with the last kick of the game, landed me 18/1 and 66/1 winners, to go with the 5/2 and 8/1 winners his potshot earlier in the half had won me. Have to admit to feeling better about it this morning.

Thought he contributed heavily to how well we started the game, and that alone was evidence as to why he started ahead of Woltemade. Ultimately though, when you’re a striker, you’ll live and die by taking chances, and the one he missed from Elanga’s cutback was a bad one.

Normally you’d tell your wingers to mix it up a bit, sometimes go outside, sometimes go inside, keep the defender guessing. Fuck that with this lad. Just get down that outside. Never seen pace like it over 5/10 yards.

Looks a player. On the ball anyway. Haven’t really seen him do any defending yet.
-
Time for him to have his ‘Gillespie moment’ tonight.

Just checked and you’re right. Gone for Arsenal on MD3. Feel free to cancel your subscription everyone.
-
That’s MD2. It’s MD3 for the Benfica match.

They’ll obviously always go with an English team, and Bilbao v Arsenal was an early ko, which probably means it doesn’t do as well ratings-wise. I can see why they went for Spurs. Be interesting to see whether they go for our game v Benfica or Arsenal v Atleti next month.

They only have the rights to one Tuesday game every week.
