Depends, if it was a 4-3-3 then yes there would’ve been no room for Beckham, who was inspirational and un droppable at the time i’d say. I always thought we should’ve played 3 at the back with Ashley Cole and Beckham as wing backs, Beckham definitely had the engine to play that role. Don’t think it was ever tried though.
-
Think the solutions to that wernt great. Dyer and joe Cole were good options there, and Anderton and mcmanaman. Was too much of an obsession of pushing gerrard lampard and scholes into the same team Agree with all of that ? With regards to the CM debate. The insistance on playing 4-4-2 killed us i think. Those 3 could’ve played together in a midfield 3, but picking 2 of them in CM and pushing 1 over to the left was an awful idea.

His defensive contribution was outrageous for a forward aswell. He was a proper grafter, and under Rafa he learned how to press properly and at the right times. At one point there was a stat flying about where he was miles ahead of anyone else in the Premier League for interceptions/tackles in the attacking third of the pitch.

Crewe do a superb half time pie. Only explanation really.
-
I’ve said this a few times on here, but if we had a top goalkeeper that season we would’ve won the league. Keegan should’ve went all out to get a Flowers or a Seaman instead of gambling on Hislop who had never played in the top flight if i remember right.

This needs circulating far more. Arguably only Norwich worse across 50 clubs Pointless. The kind of people who think “Bruce is doing a good job” aren’t capable of understanding a graph like that.
-
Aye, as someone who works shifts i can appreciate how much difference a few hours sleep/rest can make. It must be massive for a footballer when you consider the amount of miles they clock up during matches.

Wow! That’s like trying to vote on which muderous dictator was the worst!! They were all cunts in their own way, sometimes for different reasons and in different circumstances. I will have to go with Souness. He crudely dismantled a young, exciting team and replaced them all with with total garbage. His refusal to accept any responsibility also boils my piss massively. Every time he gets the opportunity he tries to blame NUFC fans for his failure even 15 years later. Pathetic, pig-headed wanker!
-
Sol Campbell should’ve been up there IMO.
-
What a goal that was, haven’t seen it for years. From what i remember he picked it up near the halfway line, played a 1-2 with someone and dinked it over the keeper at the end.
-
All started by Boumsong. Bloke just needed time. Agree with this ? About 5 years in Durham for some of his criminal defending.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

I can see this happening a lot more. Teams will start to work out how to nuilify him and Bruce won’t have an answer for it. A decent manager would find a way so we can get the ball to him in space where he can do some damage but it won’t happen here. -
I had a similar group chat last year. I kept explaining why I didn't feel as into NUFC as I did in the past...one lad kept replying with "relax". I left said group chat for the sake of my sanity, certainly not on that I was being constantly dismissed just because I felt broken. Sounded very distressing I must admit. Genuine question, do you just come on here to rip the piss out of people? Mate, just do what most sensible people have started doing and pretend it isn’t here. It’ll go away eventually.

You can get those training walls now man Maybe that’s the problem, Ashley won’t splash out for any?
-
Aye that makes sense but i still think it would be a lot more useful to have a wall there if it’s for players likely to take Free Kicks. I mean, surely we’ve got the equipment and the staff to sort it out something that simple so why not?
-
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get so upset with a tiny part of pre-match preparations It’s not even usually a formal drill, just a kick about prior to going back into the dressing room. No one is upset here sweetheart. Just commenting on something i observed and thought was odd. Found your comment a bit irrelevant also. Little tip for you though, people tend to use exclamation marks, swear words or emojis if they’re upset on an internet forum ?
-
Ok then, given how outrageously successful we’ve been in recent years i’ll hold my hands up and admit it’s clearly a fantastic drill ?
-
It's a warm up not a training session. Still seems a bit of a pointless drill to me. How often do you get to strike a perfectly still ball just outside the box in a match situation? But hey i’m no football genius so what do i know.
-
Strange that we practise free kicks without a wall. Maybe Bacon is hoping other teams will let us shoot without putting a wall up cos he’s a really nice bloke.

Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United- 27/09 @ 2pm live on Sky Sports

Bacon will be “delighted” with another 3-1 defeat against this lot. -
Excellent 1 and 2 touch footballer but his passes probably weren’t ambitious enough to be classed as one of our best. His completion % would’ve been one of the best in the league if they recorded it back then.
-
Solano for me. Could put the ball where he wanted from all sorts of angles and situations. Great technician. Beardsley definitely not far behind. Then Cabaye and Rob Lee.
-
20 points. I think if you got a good manager in instead of Bruce and Zaha moved on from Palace that's what the swing would be. Are you trying to suggest Bruce isn’t a good manager!? Be careful! That weird guy who keeps jumping to his defence at every opportunity will go radge when he sees what you wrote!!

They both absolutely love money, are huge narcissists, and have zero morals so I wouldn’t be surprised. Nailed it.
