The growing trend for commentators using the word "gorgeous" when describing a pass or a good bit of play. Just a bit too camp for me. "Quality" or "brilliant" would suffice.
-
That.... is fucking brilliant!

Probably worth remembering he's still very young for a defender. Could end up being a top class player, i hope it's with us!

That's the spirit!

Don't most of our players traditionally start playing shit once they've got a new contract? Dyer, Tiote and Gutierrez are a few who spring to mind.

Without wanting to sound like a smug cunt i was the same, he's been my favourite player since early last season. Even when he doesn't have the best of games you know you'll get the effort and passion. Very important for a team like us.

Not quite sure how to put it, but they are different kind of "good passers". Shelvey might have better long range passing (diagonal balls). Personally I prefer Merino's kind of passing, as he releases it much quicker, recycles possession, and doesn't need as much space before he releases it. Merino is better when it comes to making us tick I think. Shelvey tries the Hollywood pass a little bit too often. Good assesment. Shelvey has outstanding long range passing but he needs time and space to use it. Merino seems to be a lot sharper in tight spaces but doesn't look like he can ping it as well as Shelvey does.

What a total prick! Absolutely no need to tag the player in it. -

Can't argue with that ? -
Every time Pardew pisses me off i remind myself of the time he did the dickhead dance in the FA Cup Final before losing the game to 10-men. It helps

The Strawberry used to, someone would have to confirm they still do though cos i think McLaren was in charge the last time i watched a 3pm KO there. -

Despite the fact Yedlin and Atsu are better options than Manquillo and Murphy, i'd be tempted to keep the same team that started against Swansea. I think Murphy would respond well to getting the vote of confidence in front of the home crowd and Manquillo really grew into the game after a poor start against Swansea so he probably doesn't deserve to be dropped. Having said that i wouldn't complain too much if either of them were as we all know Rafa loves to tinker. I'm not in favour of using Shelvey in an advanced midfield role like some have suggested. He does most of his damage from a deep-lying role and simply isn't mobile enough to support the striker. Merino doesn't look like a number 10 either and he's been brilliant in CM so why move him? Would be a daft move IMO. I know Perez isn't ideal at number 10 but if we're not gona try Ritchie there then he's our best option i'd say. He might be frustrating but he does have his moments where he cleverly finds space and links the play well, he also closes down a lot which Rafa clearly wants his number 10 to do. The rest of the team picks itself really. A lot of people will be expecting 3 points but i've got a feeling it will be a draw for some reason, which wouldn't be the end of the world. -
Fuckin howlin at that like!

Hilarious! Nightmare when the match falls when most of the lads are on backshift marra!

Pure sicko. He seems absolutely desperate to have a couple of friends, probably the type of weirdo that writes to Peados and Murderers when they're in jail. I believe the phrase is "Well, that escalated quickly"

http://www.football365.com/news/mediawatch-welbeck-not-thierry-rio-and-carra-are-liars I would absolutely love to see a weekly TV show with someone like Baddiel and Skinner that focuses solely on taking the piss out of these so-called pundits. It could probably be an hour long aswell with the amount of nackers getting TV gigs on various channels these days. If they're gona get payed obscene amounts of money for sitting in a comfy chair spouting bollocks to the whole country, they should at least be held accountable and ridiculed for it.

I'm just hoping it stops the ball going in at some point.

Got a feeling Hodgson would do a decent job for them, or at least keep them in the league. It seems like his type of job. Doesn't take away how pathetic it is going back on your so-called new policy after 4 games though!

In the short term Gamez can only get better can't he? He's played very little football in the last couple of years so he was bound to be a bit rusty. I'd expect him to be a lot sharper in the next game.

Really starting to like this lad. He's played the classic Centre-Forward role perfectly so far. I'm quite baffled that he hasn't scored a lot more goals in his career as he seems to be clever when it comes to finding space and times his runs well to get on the end of crosses. I hope he can stay fit and keep it up cos he could be massive for us this season.
