The defensive options have remained pretty much the same for both of them but Bruce has had better attacking options. I agree with with your other point, obviously Benitez is the better manager but the love in and free pass he gets from some on here is ridiculous. He's the only manager in my living memoy who has overseen 10 home league defeats in a single season.

Whilst Owen was a total twat, he averaged a goal every other game in the first half of his stay. Most of his later apps were as a sub when he was clearly unfit and didn't give a toss.

Yes we've signed a load of shite over the years, but who do you rate as the top 5 worst signings for transfer fee paid compared to return given (fees adjusted for inflation to be considered as well). Here is mine: 1) Joelinton - 40M!?, lets be honest, he'll never come good, although the quoted fee we paid is rather dubious tbh. 2) Albert Luque - 11M of nothingness, goal against the mackems aside. 3) JA Boumsong - 9M, obvious backhanders for Shepherd and Souness in that deal. 4)= Cabella/Thauvin - Both cost around 10M and both equally unsuited to the PL. 5) Muto - 9M, totally pointless signing really.

If I was Ashley I'd be spending nothing at all tbh other than on loans. Has zero time or afinity for the club and genuinely wants shot, finished 12th last season despite having the worst manager in the league, why spend another penny?

I don't know why we are being linked to all these no marks that won't improve on whats here already. Keep all the current squad (minus Carroll and Muto who are useless), bring in just one quailty signing like Willock (who probably won't come) and with a bit of luck with injuries we can go for top ten, even with cushion face in charge. And before you all start moaning, Ashley and Bruce are going nowhere so thats the best we can realisticaly hope for.

He's a solid 7/10 keeper but yesterdays peformance won't have done us any favours in getting a decent fee for him, plus keepers over the age of 30 rarely go for big money. If we can get somewhere between 6-8M I'd sell him tbh. Woodman as no 1 and Darlow to play the Harper role for the rest of his career......

He won't be showing the highlights of that game to his grandkids, that's for sure. I think we need to make a decision on Woodman this summer. He's 24 now and I think he'll want to make the step up rather than have yet another season in the championshit. Either cash in or make him No 1.
