Two things. 1) you’re part of the problem. 2. you’re running the risk of getting yourself banned too.

I thought he played ok. Out of curiosity, early in the second half he went through and was bundled to the ground. The crowd went nuts and from a distance it looked like a clear foul. Was it?
-
I loved his performance tonight until the red, and I find it hard to really criticise too much. He was full blooded, chasing down everything, linking up play really well, and getting to good positions…. one silly mistimed mistake and he’s off for 3.5 games.

Absolutely incredible performance from the lads like. Fingers crossed the injuries aren’t too bad, because we’re one hell of a team when we’re firing.

I'll put a fiver on Strand Larsen scoring more goals for us this season (if he signs) that Gyokeres for Arsenal 😜
-
But they can force Burnley to only sanction one of the deals?
-
I’m only going on Hope and Downie’s reporting… I’m sure the Geordie Journos mentioned it in one of their videos too.
-
It’s not “forcing a player” if they already agreed to that clause when they left.
-
Hope and Downie both said in their videos that the “matching clause” meant he had to go there.
-
Downie and Hope both reported it extensively when he signed for City.
-
Nope. In this specific case, if City triggered the clause he literally was contractually obliged to sign for them. It’s well documented and reported on from the time the deal went through. He had no choice.

Their manager I’d imagine.

Wissa and Isak’s training schedule, up until this week, have been near identical. Training alone away from the group. Wissa hasn’t released a written Instagram statement… instead a somehow even more petulant black profile pick and removal of everything relating to Brentford. And via his agents / media he’s made identical promises to not play for them again. Literally the only thing that makes Wissa different is that he’s 29 and he gets “some” level of sympathy because he wants one big chance to play in the CL. In every other sense, both players acting the same.
-
I’m bothered in so much as it makes us pretty hypocritical, and I would deem his personality to already be a bit suspect, but I could grow to like him I’m sure.
-
I don’t know what their next plans are (I wouldn’t be surprised if Wissa still happens this week), but I think I’d be more inclined to try to fashion some loan+obligation deals for strikers like Jackson, personally. E.g. Loan, but if he scores 15 goals we are obliged to make it permanent for £50m
-
Isak has been training too… just not at the same time as the first team. The situations are near identical and I don’t see the point in doing mental gymnastics to try and justify Wissa’s actions. I’d much prefer we just avoided any player pulling this kind of shit.

As said earlier, I know of one player who I’m not about to put on here (but it’s not one of our “big players”). The rest of the squad are fully supportive of the club’s stance. But as I said, I’m 99% sure that’s not what Hope means in his article. He’s saying that the players are split on whether they’d welcome him back or not….not whether or not they support the clubs stance vs his.
-
I don’t think he means that some of the players “support” what he’s doing. I think he means some of the players are more open than others to welcoming him back into the fold. The players are pissed at him, almost to a man (I can name 1 player if you’d like who isn’t, but I’d rather not stir shit…). But being pissed at him and wanting him gone comes in varying degrees… some of the lads I’m sure would welcome him back if he stopped acting the prick.
