  1. I can see the “issue”, but I don’t believe it’ll likely rear its head particularly often. A player has to have a poor mindset in the first place to ever consider doing what Isak has done… I don’t envisage it becoming a regular occurrence.
  2. I think it’s, yet again, just a blinding example of how online opinion varies from offline. Genuinely, hand on heart, this place and Twitter are the only places I hear any significant negativity to anything we do, really. In “the real world”, opinions are just a lot more simmered down and dare I say, rational.
  3. We’ve replaced Isak with Woltemada, and you know it. Strand Larsen or Wissa or whoever will be Wilson’s replacement.
  4. I don’t think we look piss weak. I don’t think anyone other than a minority of NUFC fans online think that either. Fans of other clubs certainly don’t.
  5. There is zero chance that Eddie would be comfortable having Isak “rotting” for 6 months, being asked about him every press conference, the players being asked about him continuously etc. I’m happy that we’re getting rid… it’s for the benefit of the squad.
  6. Only Edwards says anything about compromising on bringing in a striker. I’d agree that this would be really frustrating if we don’t have a striker signed tomorrow, but as things stand there’s nothing to suggest that being or not being the case.
  7. Surely everyone has been expecting this very scenario, no? Did you really think, after what we know about Eddie and our players stance on this, that we’d want him in the building at the end of tomorrow? I genuinely don’t care that he goes… I don’t really care that it’s to Liverpool anymore (they deserve each other… hopefully his career there is filled with little niggly injuries). I don’t really care if its £125m-£130m. It really doesn’t matter. So long as we come out of this tomorrow with a stronger squad than last year (one more striker signing), and a harmonious dressing room, I’m happy.
  8. I genuinely couldn’t care less if we sell him tomorrow, for £130m, £125m etc. I don’t care. So long as we have a replacement through the door. If we don’t get a replacement, and we sell him, then I’ll be annoyed, but a lot can happen over the next 19 hours or so.
  9. That’s a spectacular shite article from Edward’s like. He’s clearly just filling column inches with what he thinks might happen. No one at Newcastle is leaking a strategy to Luke Edward’s on the eve of deadline day.
  10. I might be wrong, but hasn’t Openda had a massive drop off in form over the last 18 months (hence his availability)?
  11. He’s definitely talking about a striker, IMO, but it’s been clear for a while that we definitely have been looking for another midfielder too. Whether we get both I doubt, at this stage.
  12. Decent against Villa. Excellent against Liverpool. Poor today. Mixed bag but I have no doubts he’ll become an important player for us, especially once the forward situation is sorted.
  13. I don’t proclaim them to ever be 100%, clearly, but they’ve been right more than wrong this summer.
  14. Yeah… another hint from one of my contacts tonight that this is still being pursued. I think we want him more than Wissa.
  15. I honestly have no idea. Sounds like we’re definitely confident of getting at least 1 more in though.
  16. Been told that this one’s not dead but also “in the balance”. Sounds like we have a few irons in fires and we’re just going to see who blinks first.
  17. I was going to say, have I missed it? Do we actually know any of the fixture dates yet?
  18. I don’t think he’s a Strand Larsen backup. I think we’ve been negotiating with multiple clubs about multiple players. As of this morning my source on this one (close to the player) was confident today was the day for clarity and an expectation it would be done today. Obviously that hasn’t happened for whatever reason and we’ve decided to go with one of our other targets. The notion that we are negotiating with one player at a time, which was pushed by Downie and Edward’s a few times this summer, is obviously bullshit.
  19. Absolutely love our draw like. Only criticism is it would have been nice if Benfica was away. Lisbon is class.
  20. “Dat source”, if you knew who told me, is pretty impeccable like. But, it seems they got a firm no from Wolves and “moved on” swiftly.
