It’s been a mixed bag from him really. Performances against Man Utd, Burnley, Norwich, Brentford…even to some extent Man City first half and Liverpool, have seen very good spells. But today was poor (as was Arsenal, Leicester). I’m 100% behind him because I think most of todays issues were down to having zero fit strikers at the club, and a few players who are so drastically lacking in confidence. And I would also agree with him to an extent that we didn’t necessarily play horrendously…it was just a serious lack of cutting edge and the same old defenders making the same old mistakes (because they’re shit / lacking confidence). And then it being like a cup final for them, and a hindrance to us. More than happy to give him my full backing and reassess at the end of the season.

Ramsey is a massive upgrade on our CM like (apart from big Joelinton). If he can stay fit he’s a really solid signing. But that’s a decent sized if.

The Twitter mob are the worst, but not quite as bad as the Twitter transfer ITKs. ”Trust me, I’ll have lots of positive news soon for Newcastle” translates to “Please don’t unfollow me”. If he had that positive news he would share it. It’s clear as day to me that he’s just another one of those transfer wannabes. He’s basically Jim “my sources tell me” White, but with a fancier name and more control over what he decides to spout.

Romano’s sources are mainly other news outlets. He’s just a very clever summariser of transfer news, making it out he’s some kind of ITK.

I don’t think anyone, especially not that Romano fella, has any actual knowledge. So perhaps he is interested but is keeping his options open.

Went on a stadium tour today with the kids. The guide, for what it’s worth, said they expected Trippier to arrive at the ground around 4.30pm. So a few hours of photo shoots and videos would probably see an announcement around now or in the morning.

He’s exactly like all the other so called “ITK” accounts. Very rarely gets any scoop, is constantly posting his stuff a minute or two after someone else legit posts it. But what he does do, which is clever and gives him some false credibility, is he will only post when multiple legit sources are in agreement. So he appears right more often. But ultimately he’s just regurgitating what other reliable people say.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned elsewhere, but according to all the hospitality staff tonight (I have two friends who work on the hospitality team), Tom Holland and Zendaya were at the match as guest of Amanda Stavely tonight. In the Chairman’s suite. There was loads of security around them. Not sure if they watched from behind glass or not.

It was one of the best individual performances I’ve seen from any of our players in probably 5 years, in truth. An absolutely dominant performance.

Although we are clearly lacking all over the pitch, I was quietly encouraged by our first half performance. Limited Man City apart from a defensive mistake and a rocket (brought on my dreadful pressing). You can clearly see the team trying to play better football, but we just don’t have the players. 5 new first team players needed, ideally, next month.

I like the idea of a new stadium like, ideally in the Leazes Park location.

Can we start a petition to turn down the PA system prior to kick off? It’s excruciating, well exceeding dangerous volumes, at least in the Milburn Stand.
