Far from an easy finish that. Had milliseconds to think about it - shows his confidence at the moment.

Perez barely ever strikes a decent shot and his record reflects that. He's not a bad finisher, but still think Gayle's more likely just because of his goal poacher instinct. I disagree, Perez has scored some very good goals for us, and shows good composure and ability. Gayle might have more conviction but I think Perez is equally as good as poaching and has better movement. -

Perhaps one of Solskjær, Riise, Nordtveit or Tore Andre Flo who I know went for a canny bit at the time. -

My opinion is that I trust Perez much more to finish in the box - particularly at the moment. He's shown more ability to finish in a composed fashion in this league than Gayle has for me. Gayle has missed far too many glaring chances for me to regard him with any certainty the best finisher at the club. -

Same here, although I'd have probably gone with Perez as the lone striker personally. Maybe Gayle's pace away from home was the deciding factor, although he hasn't shown it so far this season. But he is still the best finisher available. Very debatable that. -
I wouldn't worry about that too much, Rafa clearly likes him as a player which can be seen with his patience & faith in persevering with him when he was finding his feet. I'm sure Jacob feels absolutely fine with his game time and Rafa will have kept him completely in loop with his plans for him both off the bench and starting matches. Daint fret sonna

Need a performance from Gayle. Other than that team is as expected and I'm confident we can get something. Palace are nowhere near as good as what some have made out in this thread, will be an even game. -

Probably something to do with BT and their schedule. -

Tbf if it's a choice between Joselu & Gayle I can see why people would go Joselu. At least you know you're getting work rate and heart. I'd personally go Perez like. -
He'll be in goal by then by the sounds of it.

There's not that much in it between him and Clark, they're both prone to errors only Lejeune's is because he's new to the league. I lean more towards favouring him because of that if anything, as he has potential to be very good for us once settled imo. -

I've nay problems with Lejeune playing. Clark will start here though. -
Late to the party but I thought Ben Foster's save against Southampton was absolutely fantastic.

That went through my mind but Rafa wouldn't have brought him in if he wasn't going to be our no. 1 keeper. Agree mostly, I'm just not sure he'll be ready for this game. 2 days or so with the team isn't a lot for a keeper to settle, unless he has shown immense confidence in training I reckon Rafa will go with Karl. We can't really afford any first game shakiness from our goalkeeper, so maybe it's best he gets to know the team better first. Just my thoughts, anyway.
