Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester
Infinitely Content replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
He's only meant to be injured for 2 weeks btw, so not that bad. Will miss 2/3 games maximum probably. Fuck me it will be so nice to not have to see Gayle ponder around doing nothing upfront. Even if Slimani is average to decent we have an upgrade. -
I'm sure most keepers can make a good highlight reel. They don't show when they f*** up though It's true, a highlight reel just showing sprawling saves can be very misleading. We'll see - I'm happy about the potential of this coming off though

Needed to go somewhere to play. He ranges from looking really talented to absolutely useless for us; so now is probably a good time to go out and try and gain some consistency to his game.
-
He actually looks quite good after a bit of youtube scouting. I find it's hard to judge a keeper without seeing the presence he brings to a match though, not just his saves.
-
Yeah, a six-month Luan.
-
Nice touch by Joselu to accompany him to the airport & hold his suitcase like.

I understand the unrest, frustration and/or apathy from missing out on players & tonights results going against us - but we're not nigh-on-certainly relegated like. Unless people are strategically lowering expectations/hope to avoid disappointment. Teams around us haven't strengthened THAT much, and we were competing fine before and haven't often slipped into the bottom 3 this season if at all. We had a good chance of staying up before this month began - most would have agreed with that statement - and we still do now. Nothing is decided yet and fans throwing in the towel will affect players on the pitch in home games, as much as they won't like to hear it. Back the team whilst Rafa is here, would be the least I ask of fans losing interest. I don't go to matches anymore so it makes little difference really. I'm just saying what I see, I see a team that's relegation fodder. To me it's nailed on now and I've had that opinion about January since August, so it's not like I'm knee-jerking. Aye, I'm not saying you in particular, I mean fans at home games generally. Not accusing you of a knee-jerk reaction either, I'm just offering a different perspective based on the football that has been played and is still to be played. Easy to get caught up in this transfer business malarkey and lose sight that we're not exactly doing appallingly bad on the pitch this season and still stand a fair chance of surviving. Issue is that staying up is pointless. I have to disagree, staying up is very important and could mean everything in terms of keeping the manager and potentially being sold.

Fake news, just moved to Ross County and even we're not that desperate.

I still have hope. Call me daft but I genuinely think we'll be fine, just.

No, fucking Twitter and everyone's in uproar

Giroud on.

Whenever I look at an Arsenal lineup their centre mid positions are terrible by their standards. Xhaka, Elneny & Ramsey is nowhere near good enough for a team like Arsenal. They have so many positions to address if they are to improve, but they just seem to bring in an endless stream forwards instead.
-
Monreal too although he has received more recognition this season. Such a solid player.
-
Swansea look decent. J.Ayew causing all sorts of problems.
-
Attitude has been the problem and what has put people off wanting him here. I doubt his attitude could be any worse than Gayle's has been lately, stinking. Plus he's 10x the player. Realistically though, I don't think we're interested in signing Hatem.
-
Won't be going anywhere imo. Papers regurgitating past rumours of interest. Of course Bilbao want him, he's young, quality & from Pamplona. Doesn't mean he's signing for them by tomorrow though.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Infinitely Content replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Aye this. Some are mistaken in thinking he would actually scheme & plot against us. I don't think he cares enough about the club to put that much effort in, as can be seen this window with his holiday right in the middle of an important moment. -
To blame Darlow for that goal is to basically blame him for not being world class. He was marking the side of the goal the wall wasn't, that's the correct & standard procedure - meaning his positioning was fine. Fair enough the ball didn't end up right in the inside netting; but Alonso got it up and over at a good deal of pace and it kept curling away to the right as it neared goal. Not many keepers in the league would have had a chance in dealing with that. De Gea & Courtois perhaps the only two due to agility/height respectively.

He's not that slow man.
