  1. Keegan/Toshack Never saw them play together but rumoured to be telepathic. Gattuso/Pirlo Chalk and cheese yet each world class.
  2. I think that letter should have been slightly different - I think the writers passion has ran away with him. I would have went along the following lines........ it should have been stressed that despite their societal differences, the UK and SA are close partners. Human rights arguments are the horse that has long since left the barn when it comes the club ownership. I would also have mentioned the following: Existing investment has already been made in the north east by members of the consortium. The PL's indecision has potentially put this at risk. Further investment in the local area was also promised. What about mike ashleys investment in the high street with the proceeds of the sale? Further to the above, the results of the PL's indecision might lead to 'tension' between two countries on a commercial level affecting investment elsewhere. NUFC's participation in the PL has led to some very memorable games. Surely i dont have to point out which ones? Obviously there are no guarantees but an argument could be made that a stronger NUFC equals a stronger PL. The lack of transparancy regarding the apparant undue influence of Qatar, BEIN sports and other PL clubs and the relationships now coming to light as a results of the PL's indecision are particularly worrying. The PL appear to have completely misjudged the depth of feeling that NUFC supporters have for the current regime at NUFC. Would mike ashley pass the O&D test if he were to hypothetically takeover a club now? The PL's reputation has nosedived. And not just among fans of NUFC. This will have a knock on effect of fewer sky subscriptions, fewer gate receipts, less advertising revenue for PL partners etc etc etc. And again, not just at NUFC. Other foreign and domestic investers looking at buying clubs may now look elsewhere. Following approval, its quite likely that at the first home game with fans in there would have been chants of 'walking in a Masters wonderland'. Quite what the NUFC fans will be singing now, in front of Sky cameras, i couldnt say. It should also have been asked that with regards the the PL's indecision, is that decision made by commitee or by a single person? Is it votes or points scored? It basically should have stressed that the benefits outway the negatives. Perhaps my passion has ran away too
  3. Has there been any comment in here about the relationship between richard keys and gary hoffman?
  4. The premier leagues position isnt as strong as they think it is. Those big clubs to have lobbied against the PIF acquisition are the same clubs who are looking at a potential superleague setup. The PL could have, as part of their negotiations, had an ally against the superleague.
  5. Thats a key point i feel. If it was in trouble or had been rejected ashley or barnes wouldve said something, leaked something. Something that would further their own interests.
  6. Im still of the opinion it'll go through. Im not itk before anyone asks. When its done - there will be books and documentaries written about it, the complications, the diplomatic channels, the government influence, the human rights angle, international trade, the chancers and fakers, the fans, jounalistic opinion etc etc etc etc etc etc. It'll be a fun read and i think we'll see just how complicated its been to buy our 'little northern club'.
  7. Just in case anyones wondering why were talking about leeds in the takeover thread........given the lack of updates, discussion tends to wander. A lot.
  8. This will either be: 4 nil to liverpool at half time with 7-1 the final score. ritchie with the consolation. or 3-1 to the toon with everyone hailing maestro bruce.
  9. I voted for bruce - lets get him top
  10. Would be very bittersweet to see him become the next Jason Sancho. ?
  11. Ive long since given up buying club merchandise and even going to st james park. If this takeover doesnt go through i think ill just give up on football altogether. Just like our players today.
  12. The step-over kid? No thanks.
  13. Its not as if he had injury crises' at every other club hes been at.....
  14. Thought he'd get away with it. Probably right. He's therefore totally naive, unlikely to be a farage supporting snowflake and could do with a gentle nudge towards behaving decently.
  15. Of course not - hes scum. but at 12 years old id want to why he was posting stuff like that.
  16. I'd be happy with some sort of compromise: "Take the kid to meet Zaha, have a chat, give the kid a lesson in humanity and build bridges" and then at the end Zaha gets to dig the kid as hard as he likes in the solar plexus. There is a point where you have to ignore liberal leftism and just say 'this person is a t***' and deserves some punishment rather than trying to make everything better so it looks good on facebook True but its a bairn were talking about. 12 years old. how much life experience and involvement with other cultures would he have had? not much i reckon. Wouldnt surprise me if it comes out that the bairn is on the autism spectrum and therefore has no filter. Education is the way forward. Always.
