  1. Probably both loving the idea of an excuse for more content to churn out. Both seem the sort that could create a drama for that end.
  2. Just watched Match of the Day from 4/12/93 on Saturday. Was cracking. Lovely football by Norwich at Man U. Its become crash TV the last few decades, you don't get a feel for a game, they all come off the same roughly five attacks each way (if they can manage it) and as much time spent on replays as the actual highlights. They've dumbed it down to try and appeal to people who have the least interest in watching it rather than educating people that often times games can be shit and to accept that.
  3. Commentate's like he played. Always there but what he brings fuck knows.
  4. And is that hounding out? Some people booed after we lost to Grimsby after winning 15straight under Keegan. I definitely recall a third full Old Trafford staying behind to applaud Man U around the pitch in 2005 after being beaten and booed off against Chelsea. Was that hounding Sir Alex out? We got booed off many times under Sir Bobby. 2000/01 was a horrible season with some of the worst games I'd seen. Why is it always the Wolves game? That's not hounding out otherwise every set of fans everywhere does it to every manager.
  5. Was that a serious post you've responded to? Thought it was a wummery. Sir Bobby wasn't hounded out, nor was Ben Arfa and Dyer had been next to useless for 3years which was about a third of his career as it turned out. Whilst Robert was hounded out by an idiot of a manager and the previous owner had a little something to do with the stagnation as I recall.
  6. Barry from Auf Wiedersehen Pet went to Saudi after series 1 didnt he? These prats make out like he'd have been effectively joining ISIS
  7. Not a final but they say West Germany v France in 82 was like this. Regarded as a classic but for most of the game was pretty drab they say. Watching this again now and it really wasn't a game for 80minutes notable for anything other than an exceptionally bad performance from France and a great Argentine second goal. As a foot note, couldn't watch Extra so tried to avoid, put the radio on (Metro) and the first song I heard in full was "Finally" by Ce Ce Peniston (also got a bunch of highlights on disk from the 78 World Cup to watch over Christmas) coincidence? Yes.
  8. Didn't watch a lick of the last one apart from 20' of that mess of a final so can't juge that but that's the best I've seen a fair wedge of since Germany. The quality in 2010 and 2014 wasn't high either. (The Argentina and France teams in 2006 were miles better than these two) Was probably 50/50 in terms of good/bad games that I caught - e.g. Argentina v Mexico was a shit game in all honesty but engrossing because of the situation and the fans.
  9. Yeah. Saw someone say the other day that they're so at peace with Ashworth/Howe in the market that its taken a bit of fun out of it. The idea of Ashworth's Brighton business with out budget/future budget and pull is most assuaging. Not heard of a player?! Doesn't matter. Total trust in them. Would love McAllister.
  10. Much better quality, i mean France were pathetic for most of that game. West Germany weren't. No dodgy pens. Counter attacking goals to match Di Maria's and a clean win (not pens). Not as dramatic maybe but better, unless drama is what you're looking for.
  11. Italy beating England in 2012 on penalties after dominating 99% of the game
  12. Shame they're missing an enthralling world cup final on account of it being sportswashing. At least I presume they're putting their money where their mouths are and boycotting it.
  13. Baggio vibes all over. He scored in every knock-out game too (no jammy pens either)
  14. I think that will crater good opportunity.
  15. Mick Lowes on O'Brien II at the mackems was good and Kelly at Grimsby great. something like "O'Brien with the bendooooohgh!, Liam O'Brien what a goal"
  16. From which its now a banning offence to counter and provide balance.
  17. Whilst Blackburn were building their current stand the people in the houses immediate to the land could watch the second half of the 93/94 from their upstairs windows and shed roof. Might help sweeten the deal if the Leazes terrace folks get half a season of free football, rent out their windows for thousands and get half a year of more light than they've ever had. Alternatively they might plead with us to build a huge stand to block out all the grey sky and football.
  18. Just a coincidence that the question is posed mere days after England are knocked out and they cant personally benefit in any way. Its back to a sportswashing world cup again now. Same as how it was funny when our takeover fell through but yet we've lost our souls now.
  19. I very much like that. Just want to say again that we don't have to limit ourselves to symetry, nice as it looks, the Gallowgate could be made bigger than the Leazes (as its a one shot deal at building it)
  20. If the guy dribbling runs into the defender its not though.
  21. Yep. Keeper is barely moving, player runs into him, he doesn't/cant move out of the way.
  22. Was thankful for Wright, Neville and Keane's assessment. Couldn't believe Dixon, McCoist and Walton in commentary dismissing it as clear cut blatant penalty - at best it was debatble. Rang a bell with me that I've seen that sort of thing happen a lot - player in on goal, beats the keeper to it and gets a shot away, sometimes it goes in sometimes it doesn't but cant remember seeing a penalty given for it.
  23. Still remember getting a corner a few minutes after the second and the whole ground going "shoooooot"
  24. Literally yes. Quinn said Short would put money in as long as they got 40k+ crowds. That's why he went bezerk about them watching games in the pub and complaining about not having good bus services to the ground. Its like they said in pre-season they'd be happy with midtable but forgot that that means losing as often as you win and want to renage on that contract now they've remembered losing doesn't feel nice.
