Vension is the best right back I think we've had in my time.....just not as a right back. Was a beast at centre-half in 93/94 and player of the year in centre-midfield in 94/95. Though he was very good at right-back in 92/93. -
That's okay. Its not like Man United and Sunderland have been or ever will be rivals. Like supporting us but liking Gateshead. Anyway post983 on page50 of 53 since Saturday on Newcastle on their forum has this to say: "Why are you whinging on here? Shirley it would be better directed at you own stinking lot NOBODY GIVES A FLYING ON HERE ABOUT sCUMCASTLE" the comment was liked - presumably by like minded casual observers that also just happened to be passing by and fancied reading or making a comment on this thread, but no other ones.

Just as well unlike Charnley the forum has the capacity to handle that.

its almost tacitly the case anyway that good players get sold if their clubs go down, always has been that way, just a little bit of warranty. -
Its like any game that's ever been called off for any reason if the starting XI's aren't exactly the same when the rearranged fixture takes place. When we finished 2nd to Man United in 96 re-arranged fixtures meant they played Sunday-Sunday and we had to play Monday-Thursday-Sunday When we finished 2nd to them in 97 they played Saturday 12noon-Thursday-Sunday we played Saturday 3pm-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday concievably cost us the title twice, yet during a pandemic and massive positive cases THIS is the scandal not the one of those things

Luke stating in that tweet he'd rather be a wanker than irrelevant explains his entire career/life

Berkley and "No Thanks" dont belong in the same sentence, unless were not talking about Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls

Said it before but heard it last night on a review - Watford and Norwich showed "character" to bounce straight back Which would mean they showed a lack of character to go down Which would mean they basically neither have character nor lack it and the whole concept is redundant and it might just be that this is sport not Jung's couch.

Second the above post. Stats don't give the full picture. Some arguementative types argue that the season before Ashley we only finished 7points about the relegation zone or whatever, where if they'd lived that season they'd know relegation was not on the cards. We won like one game after January or something and still were mathmatically safe with months to go. We were more in danger of going down in 87/88 where we ended up finishing 7th We finished 2nd in 96 and 97 but they were very different years. -
Creepily there's a good chance he was formulating that as the clock struck midnight. Certainly within barely a ocuple minutes into the new year he'll have been at it, maybe even irritated by the fireworks putting him off his typing.

Their noble 'battle against sportswashing' wasn't exactly stirring fight them on the beaches stuff when a thread about whether they'd watch the 2022 world cup in Qatar emerged. More 'nothing I can do, so may as well indulge myself', think the wrestling and F1 threads concured. If i didn't know better I'd swear it was to do with who benefits from a particular 'sportswash' rather than 'sportswashing' itself. Very noble indeed you heroes.

Thing is if draws count then what's 00/01 1-1, 01/02 1-1 0-1 Newcastle, 02/03 2-0 Newcastle, 0-1 Newcastle, 05/06 3-2 Newcastle, 1-4 Newcastle 07/08 1-1, 2-0 Newcastle 9 in a row or also 6 in a row!? Difficult to tell since not a single Newcastle fan even kept track, whether too busy competing for the title or playing in the Champions League or just having bigger fish to fry. That's what hurts them most, to the point they cannot accept it. Used to be 'top dogs' until those little anomolies rectified themselves in a massive way.

Disgraceful that in unprecedented times and highest case rate of the pandemic so far, where they could easily have postponed all football again, that Southampton and Everton didn't get to benefit from playing a seveley weakened by injury and covid Newcastle XI just because nearly every other team has also had a match cancelled.

Keegan's golden rule and a good explanation as why his record in the transfer market was so ridiculously good and team spirit so high.

When I seen (Cristiano) Ronaldo's name mentioned, honestly thought someone was referring to Joelinton as Ronaldo-Ronaldo. True story. Cristiano Ronaldo + Joelinton = Ronaldo

Just watched the Stoke away game in 95, Barton and Ginola were 10 out of 10s but you had to invent a new number out of 10 to describe how good Beardsley was, such a shame.
-
My Dad/we got a card with a cartoon Ginola and Ferdinand on the front going through a giant Christmas pudding, the Premier League title jutting out and the card read "the proof is in the pudding" Liked it, shame it was cursed

Including Staveley, Howe, Srnicek, Dubravka, Given and every keeper we've had and now local hero the only thing he hasn't been curmudgeonly about is his defence of the mackems and Alex Ferguson.

Definitely think ourselves and City could be very useful allies in all of this, now there's two. They represent what were being restricted from being and are themselves held back. Can't help but think a judge would think this is bloody ridiculous. Mind football is the one business where there's even a chance any of this would work. Would sleep easy if a joint case was launched.
