Suppose things like this help (not that it matters to this bloke but they're 18th 3points off second bottom)

Similar has happened before (Japan, MLS) and were curiosities more than anything. The English league was probably the most or second most watched in the world courtesy of the Scandinavian/Benelux/Asian markets before the Premier League without having the worlds best players. Whilst selling its best players to Italy, France and Germany. Its not about the world best players. The established league's themselves are a bigger draw.

Cant blame him having been pissed off with the same lack of support and humility on display from some of our fans. Should be embarrassed but having seen it last season when we didn't win I've not witnessed any compunction about that.

Defacing the pub has been unanimously approved of on their thread, many calling for the same again and bricks in future. Cant relate living in a 50-50 area the admittedly paltry occasional SAFC displays have never seemed to bother much less enrage people and I've watched NUFC matches in the Ashley era in bars rammed with Newcastle fans that are named after the fact they're literally situated on the bank of the river Wear (they're on about territory and rivers dictating them again) and closer to Sunderland than CLS without a raised eyebrow, is just a normal occurance. Afraid to say their iron clad territories outside of Sunderland were breached long ago, if they ever existed to begin with. Why get tetchy now ? Rattled cunts.

Newcastle United vs. Liverpool: 27/08/23 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

Because many of our players are apparently shit again according the match day thread, will that mean it'll ease off on the criticism of them against another good team and appreciate their efforts, or will they be getting slaughtered all over again if all doesn't go well - a week out from the champions league draw they earned.. Cos I can guarantee at the very best there will be points in the game where were second best and at least appear not to be playing well and that it doesn't mean were not a good team. -
Its no mystery why our play and players aren't doing well in this game. I think/hope that's the root of the ire.
-
Absolutely. This is on them not us. No team goes there and doesn't appear 'sloppy' or like they 'haven't turned up' at times. Its not a massive coincidence its because they're the best.

oh and up yours Taggart

Unimpressive as fuck again Man United. There's easily four better teams, not that that manifests for them they're so jammy

He's not a c*nt so probably be seen as not cut out for either job.

Still got all mine. Knew they'd come back into fashion. The Ginola name and numbering wont even need explaining away. -
Yeah its terrible when a rich dodgy links overseas owner buys a club and your club has a competitor isn't it Chelsea fans? Incidentally this is our first Champions League qualification since 2003 when we were becoming a mainstay (behind only Man United and Arsenal) but unfortunately finished 5th in 2004. On a totally unrelated note that was the year Abramovich rocked up.

Is the Argentine cup match between Colon v Lanus a shit game?

Leaving 'Emirates' on the Arsenal shirt and the Manchester City shirt untouched in a classic display of mackem 'ethics'.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Wolfcastle replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
They play at Parken, should be plenty of tickets in the offing as they cant sell that out. Happy for Rangers. Don't want them though. No British teams. Just imagine how our fans felt in the 70s drawing Southampton. As far away as a proper European team but none of the spice. -
Gives old school missed the kick-off vibes

The buses Niall Quinn was willing to lay on to get them to shift themselves to their games instead of sitting in the pub watching it on dodgy internet were not nearly as efficient presumably.
-
Yeah was good. Didn't have to acknowledge it either as it should be a given when a player is hurt like that. Remember a player as vile (and good too) as Mark Hughes plying for the vile Man United team getting the same treatment having literally just scored against us.

I've experiened many better feelings in football than beating them, If I were to list them I doubt a win over them would be in my top 20 and many better atmospheres. Its probably horses for courses and a personality thing of which there's no right and wrong but its too like them (nothing else to dream of and were past that point again) to think beating your local rival is the ultimate. Most of our wins over them weren't even memorable in the context of the season they were in when we've been doing well. The 1-0 Nobby penalty is barely remembered and other wins in that era dont match up to Man Untied 4-3, Arsenal and Leeds away, Feyenoord and Juventus, Leeds h. I'd put Man United, Spurs, Forest and possibly others including Boro and Ferencvaros ahead of beating the mackems in 96/97 for enjoyment and memory. The promotion season under Keegan we played them Grimsby, Oxford and Leicester in the last week and beating them was arguably the least memorable of the four and incomparable to the Leicester game. I dunno how excited can a Goliath be at beating a David even if the David in question deserves to have his face rubbed in the shit.

It happens, Beardsley had bad games too, you'll always be tempted to stick with it for what might happen - even just for the players confidence, especially probably with the game bagged *re Bruno

Aye, its often failed to be factored in what an enhancement a full-season of this radge Isak is.

Sweet sweet breathing space

Doesnt have to shoot from that angle or even shoot himself though if not brought down, its an extremely dangerous attacking scenario. One of the defenders effectively becomes the goalkeeper when the goalkeeper is indisposed. If there was only one player typically between the attacker and keeper he'd be the 'last man'. With my too tense to be altruistic about it hat on admittedly.
-
What's your theory then. We completely fuck up an attacking move with a goalkeeper out of play as its only one of the best scenarios you can wish for in the sport?
