  1. In the end after all that, the decision is still effectively the same guess it was in real time
  2. VAR to forensically study for 5minutes if the slightest foul has occurred
  3. The infamous paper aeroplane game was against them back in the day.
  4. Being football it'll more likely be the other thing. Does he come up for corners?
  5. Must just be that 99% of the fanbases of the two clubs that have first hand experience of Ashley absolutely detesting the bastard are wrong. Bet Sheff Wed's fans said that same thing when they hired Bruce - that the Villa fans were totally wrong about him. Went on to shaft them a few month later.
  6. Apparently Peterborough have won it back to back and nobody has won it more. They're basically the Real Madrid of that cup. 'Peterborough's the Real Madrid of that cup you won, Sunluns a massive club' *but the mackems did dethrone Salford City from holding it. Nobody should ever take that away from them.
  7. Been noticing that effect a lot on TV. Liverpool at home was the same. On both occasions popped the radio on whilst the game was on and it was like a different event.
  8. Very happy for him, in the camp that this was far from pressure free for him and a free hit.
  9. Relegtion-bound as f*ck to concede that quickly in the 2nd half with a two goal lead.
  10. Marseilles when being bankrolled by Tapie sorted themselves out in a fraction of the time. They'd been knocked out in the EC/CL semis by a handball, lost a final on penalties and won the thing inside about 6years
  11. Seen too many illogical things happen in second legs at this stage - with Real Madrid contributing more than their fair share - to assume the first legs will be the story of the ties.... Except Barcelona - Dortmund, that c*nts done.
  12. Grew up in Washington and never heard a proper mackem accent ('hoyd' level) until I worked with a lad from Southwick. Though a mate (Newcastle fan) after moving just across the river from Washington developed a horrible twang to his which was as stark as I experienced - more your 'skewel' level of fluency.
  13. 25,000 there that day. Everton's previous home game against Southampton 13,000.
  14. Was a sort of urban rumour along the lines that Alan Thompson scored from the kick-off a couple times for the reserves
  15. That's a good assessment by Eddie, sums it up really and that's still where we are except I'd downgrade 'great' at this point.
  16. Liked it better when clubs that failed had to sell players than when clubs succeed and have to. Just made sense in every way. But hey ho, there's that, promoted cannon fodder, court room battles and all kinds of dodgy stuff but as long as a couple clubs are protected
  17. Do well at Leicester. Must be the same lads getting the tickets. Blaydon Races even got a run out. What next Howay the Lads.
  18. Lot of easy games for the other contenders this coming weekend. Will probably have to make do with maintaining the status quo. Everton troubling Forest is the best bet
  19. Sort of bad game Man United sneak in stoppage time. Or does that not happen when its a benefit?
  20. They're where they should be now. Since the war they're 21st overall, since Kennedy was shot 27th, the 10years prior to the PL 23rd and in the PL era 18th. That probably averages out at where they are now. Much as they deride it, 'football didn't start in 1992' and all that, the PL era is a pinnacle of league performance for them in the last 75years the only count by which they'd be in a top 20. Would be better off pretending football did start in 1992.

    Harvey Barnes

Besides anything else I think Gordon off the bench is cracking option for the time being too.
  22. They've definitely distorted rules in Arsenal's favour - I mean every change that's made they're one of the few that always benefit - its just whether that was a coincidence or favour. All this chaos is basically to suit Arsenal and co.
