  1. Gotta look after the pennies...
  2. I can see us cashing in on Almiron and Tripps easy enough in January, probably why Eddie's been playing Murphy and Tino more. But, it also wouldn't surprise me if we bit the bullet and sold one of our bigger stars, like Isak or Bruno as well, just to fund beefing out the squad some more with the PSR hamstringing in place. It wouldn't be ideal, but after a fairly indifferent first half of the season I have to wonder if it would impact us as much as our hearts over minds would have us feeling.
  3. Called it: https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester-united/consider-newcastle-raid-dan-ashworth-replacement-atletico-chief-also-on-radar
  4. How long before Ratcliffe tries tapping up Mitchell?
  5. And I think part of that, for me, is because I don't want to see Eddie fail, as much as anything else.
  6. I actually think this is very likely, just based on league results as things are going. I really don't like saying that, it's different to previous managers over the last few years because I honestly like Eddie, he seems like a genuinely nice guy and has been really good for us. But something is definitely off right now, everything feels a bit rotten, stale, from top to bottom, and I don't think the owners will stick with it for long. The brownie points from that first season and the fact there's no excuses like their was with the injuries last season, has to be taken into account.
  7. And I think it makes me feel more angry towards them than it used to, they just look like a bunch of lazy cunts. It's bewildering.
  8. Certainly looks that way, like we can't be taken seriously - though that's obviously been helped by the red cartel hamstringing any progress we could make, with them being helped by the league as well.
  9. I'd like to think that, but looking at them I'm not sure. I mean, I know all the players are a year or so older, probably means more to Burn or Trippier, but we just don't seem to be as clinical or cover each other anymore. We've not been the same since summer's god awful transfer window and, possibly more importantly, since Eddie was linked with the England job and Amanda/Mehrdad left. I'd hope Gordon, Isak and Bruno hadn't had their heads turned by being linked with moves away, but even that has to sit at the back of the mind. Things feel stale now, like it needs freshening up.
  10. You have to wonder what's changed with the team, with whatever Howe's training them with. How we've slumped so much is just weird. It's not like we've had a massive change in players, but we seem to struggle now to just do the basics. I'm not sure if the players are no longer buying into Eddie's vision, whether they've fallen for their own hype or if it's something else - just seems like they're a completely different side to what they were.
  11. On current ability and complacency, we'll probably get dicked by these guys too.
  12. Gonna get dry humped up the tea-towel holder by these bin-dipping, scummy fucks
  13. Performances simply haven't been anywhere near good enough for the last two games, embarrassingly so. There shouldn't be any excuses for it either really, if we can't even grind out results, getting goals from elsewhere on the pitch when we don't have an adequate out and out striker, against dogshit teams like Palace and West Ham - it's down to the manager and I really hate having to say that. Whether it's down to Eddie not motivating the players (they've looked far too complacent against lower teams) or whether it's a lack of tactics on his part, I don't know, but a slow start to the season, then a handful of reasonable games against 'better' teams and now back to this level of shit is clearly something that needs sorting sooner than later. I feel like we've stagnated and gone off, particularly since this summer, like all the good work that had been done in the previous two seasons is slowly unravelling, to the point that we're going to need a fresh approach. We don't look invested and we don't look capable, that's something I think the owners are likely to start questioning soon. We're not even doing the basics right for fuck sake, it's sickening.
  14. I'm losing patience with this utter shit our lot keep dishing out, there's no excuse for it this season - no mass injuries, no Europe, we sales to affect the squad. Yes we didn't bring much in, but we had enough previously to do better than this. Has Eddie lost it? Are the players no longer invested? Just fed up to the back teeth with the utter wank we're being fed week in, week out, it's barely better than the Bruce era. Sick of it.
  15. This is another game we shouldn't even look slightly like losing, anything other than a win will be down to the players being complacent and Eddie not being effective with a plan or making sure the players toe the line imo. Palace are shit, their league position shows that, we know they're rotten. Our boys need to pull their bloody fingers out with their mentality and we need to get back to it - COME ON!
  16. You confused me there with the Tory comment, I thought we were talking about Labour peer, Baron Bassam from Brighton, for pushing the amendment - that'll teach me for skip reading the last few posts! https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-owners-reality-after-30477522
  17. Looking at this shit West Ham team, I have to wonder how this has happened - then I remember, we like to fuck up against shit teams, plus we've had a pointless international break to disrupt the momentum we'd built up previously. ... fucking tedious bollocks.
