Gordon should dye his hair black, wear long sleeved jumpers and be done with it...
-
For anyone laughing at Palace missing out on a better price for Guehi's due to their performances so far this season... Gordon, Bruno... their value is dropping week on week at this rate. Edit: (not that I'd want to sell either)
-
Think it happens at every ground tbh, I reckon I've seen it at every match I've been to, no matter the team.
-
It definitely has the feel of that, whether people want to believe it or question it, something just doesn't feel right.
-
100% this

I'm starting to have doubts... not because I don't think the ability is there, but because it feels like the players are no longer buying into the long term plan and, as sad as it seems, it doesn't feel like Eddie believes either. Whether something has kicked off in the background between the playing staff and the money/technical staff or whether it's something else, it just feels like the momentum we had, the togetherness, the drive, it's gone.
-
We've lost any semblance of the togetherness in covering each other, we're no longer pressing or have any intensity and in general just look like a club who's waiting for something to give them a refresh. It's like the players are no longer sold on Eddie's vision, I'm not even sure Eddie seems that enthusiastic any more - it all looks like a bit of a chore for them all.

Can see why we've been looking at Trafford as a new keeper, Pope's been pants for the last 18 months. Add in Gordon and Trippier not having their mind in the game and our weakness at central defense... we're not even pressing any more, it feels like Eddie's not 100%, whether that's any alleged power struggles, the potential of being offered the England job or something else entirely. In general, the whole team doesn't look focused. ... it's not helping the ref's been inconsistent either. Urgh, it's got big fuck-up written all over it... fucking Fulham indeed.

What happened to Gordon? His woes with Southgate during the summer had nothing to do with us, was he really unsettled by the Liverpool links?

Fulham vs. Newcastle United: 21/09/24 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

What's with the shit quality of the live commentary via the official website? It's been a bit arse so far this season, have they changed provider or something? -
Must admit, I did expect them to have at least started on building a new, world class academy and training facility, akin to Barca or Man City, considering the money they clearly have to play with. In terms of St James, I understand there's been many hoops to jump through, but everything still seems to be moving glacially slow, regardless of how the club was run previously. The spending excuses work for the playing side, but nothing outside of that.

What happened with this kid? How did he go from someone Barca was looking at once upon a time to where his is now?
-
There's definitely an element of Stan Laurel about him, just as long as he doesn't play like a comedian though
-
Would laugh my cock off if Guehi decided to just let his contract run down and go for big wages in under two years time and Palace got nothing, but a much reduced fee would be equally entertaining. Couldn't happen to a nicer cunt in Parish.
-
Eddie looks tired and a bit 'off' lately, hope it's nothing to do with any board infighting or anything that's upsetting the apple-cart behind the scenes. Hopefully the Saudis will stamp out any power struggles quick sharp and remind people to get back to their jobs.
-
Bearing in mind that Amanda and Mehrdad had previously worked with PIF and the Saudis and already had a good relationship with them, I'd hope that they'd have been backed over Eales (and Mitchell if he's involved) if there was anything iffy going on. Still, I guess it depends on who's bringing what to the table.
-
No, you missed what I meant. To me it kind of felt a little of cronyism, or rather an upstairs/downstairs divide between the directors and the team staff. I know Amanda and Mehrdad used to sit with the chairman, but they came across as it being part of a family feel, not seen much of Jamie Reuben since they left either. I hope I'm wrong, it just 'feels' off to me currently.

Someone else thinking we could sign Mario Hermosa: https://tbrfootball.com/newcastle-could-still-sign-one-of-the-best-on-free-transfer-after-marc-guehi-saga-having-already-made-move/
