I'm not sure that's right, there appears to be more evidence to support the supposition that the takeover is still on and waiting in the wings as things stand.

Pre-Season 2021/22 - Newcastle United 3-0 Norwich City

Good god, beaten by York, amazingly shite! Fitness be damned, the players we have in the team should be able to beat a team that far below them in the leagues simply on innate skill, the club is shambolic as it stands. -
Let's face it though, who's going to believe Puke Edwards about anything, ever? He's living proof that the cosmos has a sense of humour, the bloke's a living joke with an incredible bitter streak.

In fact, the Daily Mongrel seem to have been on his case a fair bit in the last fortnight: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9709545/Jamal-Khashoggis-close-friendship-Osama-bin-Laden-Murdered-journalist-cried-died.html I don't like em, but they can keep up with this if it distracts his wailing other half from bothering us for a bit longer.

100% agree with this. We all know Ashley's a cunt, we've seen it time and again, but I'd much rather he won out this time round and would be fully behind him doing so, just to get him out of the door and the takeover through. It's shambolic that all relevant parties are willing and yet the Premier League, corrupt as they are, can block it from happening and not be held accountable in public in any way. Our troubles with Ashley are in the past if we get new owners, that's all I care about.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Ancelotti to Brazil
Armchair Pundit replied to cp40's topic in Football
As much as I'd usually want to question the term 'big club' where the scouse mackems are concerned, I can't deny that they are a bigger club that others in the prem currently without a manager, with the exception of the Spuds. Still, that's an aside, I can't see why he'd be interested in going to a club where the fans clearly don't want him. He'll be in a no win situation, if he does okay the fans still won't like him, they'll never be 100% behind him or give him proper credit for anything and if he doesn't hit the ground running or makes a slight slip-up at any point they're be right on him straight away. It's the sort of move that could tarnish his reputation, it's not like when he came to us and then did a year in the Championship, he was loved here, he's going to end up on a hiding to nothing imo. If anything it makes him look more like a money grabbing mercenary after his stint in China. Besides, if he'd just waited that little bit longer... *Edit - My other fear is that we'll struggle to find a manager, should the takeover go through, that will connect with the fans and area as well as Rafa did. -

Gutted about Rafa, just can't fathom his thinking with this move at all. -
No Rafa ?

Will be utterly gutted, if only he'd wait just that little bit longer. ... I wonder what the chance would be of him being poached by the new owners? Or whether he'd insist on sticking with the contract. -

I really can't fathom Everton fans like, what makes them think they should be bringing in the top names from management? They're neither established as a big club at the top end of the table or successful enough to attract that calibre imo, they were incredibly lucky to have Ancelotti for the brief period they did. Yes, you could draw parallels of that with us and Rafa but we know we were lucky to have him and don't expect another big name to walk through the door, certainly not as things stand. Everton may have had a little more success on the pitch in terms of league placing in recent years to us but they're certainly no bigger than us, they're scouse mackems at best. -
Weird, they're also saying that Rafa to Everton is a done deal. I don't understand that if our situation is so close to being resolved, still can't see why Rafa would go to the scouse mackems.

No dude, he put the cones out and went to the bookies for the players. Carver's just a modern day Terry Mac with a lizard tongue. -

That was kind of my ponderings on the whole thing last night, though I then started to wonder how the fans of the big teams would react. Those teams who actually go out to win aggressively and do in fact win tournaments instead of being overly cautious all the time and just happy to take part. -

I was thinking about this whole thing of the fans booing at full time. I mean, I'm not keen on it myself, but how else are fans supposed to display their opinion of poor performances than booing? I seem to remember the Spanish waving white hankies or something, but I always thought that looked a bit odd. -

Scouse mackems, always have been. I'll be very saddened if Rafa went there, their fans are shite too. -

Part of me thinks that surely Rafa wouldn't go somewhere where half of the fans already hate him, but then I remember that he went to Chelski and their fans hated him even though he won them something. To be honest, if there's a large part of the fanbase that you'll never win over, even if you win stuff, makes me think that that to manage a club like that must take away from ever being fully attached to them as a manager and being the very best that you can. It's one thing to get paid to do a job, maybe even be good at it, but if you're not liked by the people there your achievements will never be fully appreciated. I hope he doesn't go to the scouse mackems, he'll never be loved as much as he was here.
