Do we even have anyone on the bench worth bringing on? -

What a load of crap, never a red, shouldn't have been investigated - wind back to the obvious pen for us that wasn't given in the first half and bizarrely VAR seeing nothing in it. Shit officiating as per usual. -

Getting miffed in every game about the poor officiation standards, can't help wondering if half of the problem isn't down to too many stupid little rules which hamper interpretation. That said, should have had a penalty all day long for the shirt/arm pull, can't see how VAR let's it go either. Willock and Wood have been pants, Longstaff less than average... need to get on it in the second half, the lack in decent squad depth is costing up the game right now, Wolves are there for the taking. -

What was it Man Utd wanted for Lingard in January again? Necky fuckers, can pay over the odds this time. -

Can't see the logic in loaning him out to be a second choice keeper somewhere else, surely Pope needs competition as much as anyone else (and we can't possibly rely on Darlow for that). -

Clearly missed when the ref didn't send their forward off for what should have been a second yellow or straight red, plus the pen we weren't given... yes, the bloke is a melon. -

We'll most likely have another couple of players by then too -
Nooooooooooooooooo! It can't happen!!! Would right take the shine off signing Isak ?

There was a whole thread on why we have to be careful and were likely sticking a low end structure on spending until were established and hopefully in Europe again, to do with FFP and all that guff. Just thought if it's an issue this sort of splooge could endanger that plan, we wouldn't want to fall foul of it.

Newcastle United 3-3 Manchester City (21/08/2022)

Can't believe I'm pissed off with a draw against Man City, it should have been 3-2 though. Fucking ref was atrocious, we should have had a foul before the corner that lead to their second goal, the wanker didn't give us a thing, was essentially City's 12th man throughout the match. Great performance by us, but we were robbed of all three point imo. -
Ref's been turbo shit so far, totally inconsistent in Citeh's favour.

The amount of years Bruce has been a manager for and got away with it is an incredible feat in itself. Even after being found out again and again, with the exception of his time at Hull and Wigan maybe (even a broken watch is right twice a day), it is utterly amazing! I can only assume Bruce's entire career has been possible by getting favours from people he's befriended and having an innate ability to target gullible club owners. I've worked with project managers like him who've drifted through their career, bullshitting their way in each job while knowing absolutely nothing, then moving on when they've been rumbled - but with Bruce he's had the bonus that football clubs actually have to pay him off when he's found out. Incredible.

It's kind of annoying to me, while part of me sees ASM as one of what should be truly top class players that would be good to build around, I think you're spot on. It certainly seems that he's more tuned to being the sort of player who does better as a bigger fish in a small pond who's allowed to drift in and out of games under his own plan rather than working as a team player within a structured plan. It then comes down to whether he goes somewhere else with less of a plan, where he might do better and potentially look like we shouldn't have sold him... or we let him go and bring in players who have more of an ability to fit and evolve as part of a bigger team. Really difficult decision.

Well, with Bloomberg reporting that Man Utd's owners could be ready to sell their majority ownership, if money really wasn't an object for the Saudis what's the chances they could bin us off this early in the project and jump in for a more established club with a richer recent trophy history, better FFP allowances and higher world renown... might be just what the doctor ordered for our fans that can't live with Saudi ownership, maybe Fat Mike would offer them an escape route. ... personally, I'd like to think it's not something that PIF would do, but according to some they are linked to evil incarnate after all. (For the record, before some people wet themselves, I'm not suggesting the Saudis are fluffy bunnies or anything like - me personally, I don't give a monkey's either way, but I'm like that, I can't help it).

Decided to stick with the radio this arvo instead of the more visual alternatives I think, too hot for faffing about. -

Bottled the extra responsibility -
Agreed, West Ham getting him would boil my piss, Man City I could understand.
