So, I'm right in thinking this only affects monies brought in that are applicable to FFP spend on players? Essentially, we have to find some way of getting money into the club, solely to balance out spend on players. We can spend what we like on everything outside of the playing staff, so the improvements to the ground, training facilities and wages of a new manager aren't included?

My thoughts exactly. I'm so hyped about the match today, it's been great, Sunday's rituals back to how they used to be for me - MotD first thing with a brew, sticking an acca on perhaps and then actual excitement and pleasure rolling in from looking forward to our match. I don't care about anything else, it's a day of pure joy and I'm loving it!

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the people in KSA who'd seen people outside St James in Arab dress when the takeover went through thought it was great actually, they liked that their culture was being embraced. (And by embracing their culture, I don't mean the human rights issues, before someone has an aneurism).

Meh, in a much bigger point, it's the first match day of a new era at last , no-longer under Mike Ashley. Today should be a party atmosphere and I'm sure it will be. I don't think the players or some of the younger fans will have every seen or felt anything like it. It doesn't matter about the result or Bruce being in charge, we're back and nothing and nobody will take that away!

I know in the past we've questioned whether this forum and opinions on it are a true representation of the general nufc support on certain topics within the club, but I do think it can turn into having a certain level of being a bit of an echo chamber and trying to out-do each other in some threads. I honestly don't believe the majority of fans care about what KSA might or might not have done in their past or whether this whole thing is sports-washing for their future. If someone wants to dress as an Arab Sheik or wave a Saudi flag that's up to them, I get that some people aren't going to be comfortable with that but on the whole, I think it's only going to bother a small amount of people by comparison, who tend to react more strongly to controversial subjects. That's just my take on it though and I don't live in the North East so I could easily be misreading it.

Perhaps moving from St James would finally lift the curse at the ground (though I suspect it would also be somewhat conveniently assisted by our new found status and funds)

There's still a few big names out there before we get to Fat Frank, I really don't rate him at all. I mean, just looking on 'available coaches' list on Transfermarkt, there's a load I'd take before him.

As long as whoever they bring in is capable of working under their director of football, along with all the proposed infrastructure changes. I'd prefer experience over youth right now, even if it's just until the end of the season.

I know we should expect it, but I kind of keep getting the feeling that it'll all be taken away from us on a technicality at any given point. The only reason I can think I feel like that is just because we're Newcastle and stuff always turns to shit for us.

I really hope we don't buy too many opportunists or journeymen. I mean, I expect there will be some flops along the way but even though money might not be an object as such, I still don't seem to be able to get out of the mindset that I expect value for money.
