I think G/A as a metric is really dumb for most footballers tbh. There are some exceptions obviously, but what really matters is your impact and how the team functions and performs as a result of your performance. How many goals is the team scoring and creating is obviously important but most of the individual importance of it is really not that relevant.

I don't think you're wrong really, I just feel like Miley is super young so the extra mileage won't matter much. I also have no faith in Willock to offer anything so I disregard it as an option Granted Howe will not see it that way and as a manager of a football club he shouldn't so he probably will give him an opportunity here.

Tbf the footage I have seen of Garrincha makes him look class. But I have long held this opinion that a lot of the old guys have a mystique around them because there weren't on TV 2-3 times a week so weren't over-exposed to the public. I don't blame anyone for this but I heard so many stories about guys growing up who people only saw at the WC. Then when you ask what they were like week to week you get no answer back. So it makes me believe it.

These lists are absolutely impossible to do, I don't care how much football you've watched and how much intelligence you have regarding it. With that said he's clearly a grade a bellend.

Please keep in mind I’ve watched like 10 games I obviously do not have the context you guys do. He’s obviously excellent tho aye.

I wasn’t watching in previous years but I think he’s done a good job regarding rotation considering the circumstances of needing to find available combinations due to new signings, injuries. Balancing the need to keep players fresh but also play them enough to find some level of momentum isn’t easy and I think he’s done well for the most part.

Most of the time when they do that I assume the source is utter dogshit And tbf rumours in October most likely are most of the time.

Define challenge at the top of the league. Because there's currently 6 points between 2nd and 12th and idk about you but 2nd quite close to the top.

I think historically they've been very different leagues that require totally different skill sets so it's not a surprise one player would find success here and not there as well as vice versa. In simplistic terms in Italy there has been much larger focus on the tactical side of the game where as in England there's a much larger focus on the physical side of the game. Nothing wrong with either approach, they're just different and serve you better in some ways and don't serve you well in others. I genuinely think that's all this is tbh, Thiaw physically is very impressive (quick, strong, good in the air etc) and he gets to showcase that part a lot more here than he did in Italy. I'm sure it helps that with Howe, the coaching staff is a lot more secure and stable than it was for most of his time in Milan from what Curva was saying. Those are probably the main factors that explain his success here, he probably isn't a 80m+ defender in Italy but in England he very much might be.

Yeah I genuinely don't understand this criticism tbh. He definitely shouldn't be on the bench anytime soon anyway, outside of rest/rotation etc and assuming he's healthy.

It's nonsense and happens everytime he doesn't score which fortunately hasn't happened too often in the league. Smacks of "this was my opinion when he arrived and I don't want to admit I was wrong". He can improve in some of his off the ball runs when crosses come in which I'm sure they're working on but it's a giant leap between that and not a striker. The reason he drops deep anyway is because the midfield are not controlling games at all in the league and they kinda need him to do it to support them. He was playing a lot higher up against Benfica because we had much higher control of the game, which in turn allows the wingers to do what they did as well.

Will be much easier to pull off consistently once Tino and Hall are both back but I do see the vision with it.

Maybe I'm coping but I think it might help that Miley is also in the team. Having someone who is looking to slow things down at times might help Joelinton. I feel like sometimes the team is a bit too frantic, so I think they might balance each other out.
-
Joelinton for Ramsey but aside from that yeah.
-
Xavi used to do the same, honestly until the Dutch moron did it recently I used to think it was mainly a Barcelona thing
-
Drastic action they really are a precious lot aren't they.

Be class if he's actually a psycho behind closed doors tbh

Howe, E. Made me laugh and I have really no idea why.

Piece of advice: Unless you do something actually offensive, it's really not necessary to apologize. English humour is basically 95% shit talk and sarcasm. It's not your fault it's not your native language, with that out of the way.... All hail Nick Woltemade and his beautiful backheel flicks.

It's a whole bunch of nothing IMO, sure he probably would want to play for them one day. I'm sure every German kid does in the same way Italians do with Juventus or Milan but just like with Tonali probably going back to Italy one day it's not anything to really worry about in the immediate future.
