It really does just go to show that money alone's not everything like. Chelsea have spent an ungodly amount of money but I can honestly say that if I was a Chelsea fan I wouldn't be happy with any of it.

"I think this one will go to the wire" Edwards in the thralls of his humiliation fetish

I'm sure he does, but I think we can all agree that we haven't bought the finished article.

You'd think we'd be once bitten twice shy after the first year of Ashley like. Then seeing how quickly that 'we've always been at war with Eurasia' spin happened with Abramovic as soon as Russia were the baddies.

The best transfer window I have ever seen. 6/10 It's been a very good window overall like. 10/10 for effort, professionalism, execution, and potential. The only negatives are ASM leaving - I think that unpredictability will at certain times be missed - that the signings overall aside from Barnes aren't dead certs in terms of what level they'll reach, and the lack of quality cover at RCB. Overall a very solid 7.5/10 that has the potential to be a 10/10 in hindsight.

I can't speak for Jim, but I think the point maybe isn't clear. Everyone knew it was going to be corporate focused, that's not really what I mean. It's the very specific stuff that comes across as staged PR stuff in the first episode that I'm talking about. Like Staveley talking about the seperation between PIF and the Saudi state or their interactions with people. To me that sets off my PR bullshit radar straight away. Like I say they're all like that to varying degrees, there's just some bits that stand out more than others. It's not even a huge deal, it's just an observation. I don't need to like the club's owners and I don't, they're the custodians of the football club I support, we're not friends or owt Episode 2 was much better because it focused more on the football as well.
-
No one said anything about money or power. They are however obvious PR bullshitters and imo not entirely genuine. They're not unique in that respect and it's not a personal criticism, it's just the world they're in and a basic observation. Everyone in that world is like that. And they're diecast Tories closely linked with the Saudi state. 'Niceness' obviously goes a long way to make that meaningless with a lot of people.
-
You could just both be missing the PR bullshit detector gene like.

Commentary that isn't iconic always throws me like. Pearce commentating over Albert's goal and not Martin Tyler just isn't right.
-
Thought it was fine but I'm sure stuff like that is a bad idea before finals. You're supposed to be pumped up and ready for the adrenaline to flow, not getting teary eyed and releasing emotions
-
That was 100x better than the first episode

I suspect it isn't in English lessons Although when I taught English I had to teach a phrase other than "you can't...". The Japanese pronunciation of it meant that the word cunt was in fact used in English lessons.

Not the forum for you if you're offended by swearsies tbh

Mbeumo will probably be a big loss for Brentford. Even if teams aren't affected by who they lose, there's also an advantage to be gained by whoever gets to play the teams with players who are away.

Aye, it looks like something you'd see in Dubai.

My money's on Longstaff or Bruno

Never, it's always the same bunch of kits now, they haven't changed for ages.

They're all DHGate resellers. In fact, when when I sent a seller on DHGate a message a while back asking if they could do the 90-92 barcode kit, they sent this exact photo back trying to say that it was the same one. Those sites are a waste of time and money. If you're going to get one of those, just go to DHGate.

There are similarities like, but I think the main one is the intensity and that we're both good to watch. Funnily enough, that Liverpool team that Klopp first set up reminded me a lot of Keegan's Newcastle, so you can easily tie Howe's Newcastle to that and just miss out Liverpool.
-
No, of course it doesn't go against it and of course you can make a joke about it and not have it make you insincere. Surely you'll have watched stuff like The Day Today, BrassEye, The Thick of It, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Frankie Boyle, Jon Stewart and countless others. Joking about stuff not only doesn't invalidate these things, but often highlights them. Half of the posts on here are joke posts as a type of coping mechanism for things.
-
No I know, I'm responding to what you said. How do they lose the debate on morality by making jokes about it? Making jokes doesn't automatically mean you don't take something seriously, in fact it often means that you do take it seriously. And like I say, if joking about it means they lose the debate, where does that put you? Not having a personal go at you btw, just basically saying joking about it doesn't invalidate anything.
-
Would love to know how you thread the needle of defending our position as fans while earnestly doing the "that's not something you should joke about" thing on moral grounds. Surely you either grow a thicker skin and accept that it's all fair game (my suggestion), or you throw yourself in with your own condemnation if you think something as trivial as jokes are beyond the pale.

Chilwell is class. The reaction to this from Chelsea fans is really encouraging.
