  1. Trippier's exactly the sort of player I could see us going for like. Surprised it's taken this long for him to be one of the hundreds of names linked.
  2. Similar to Tifo. Very interesting stuff but a bit football hipster-ish and not always in line with the reality.
  3. Watch the Pardew one if you want to feel a bit better about having Arteta.
  4. Good to read. I've been looking on a couple of Bournemouth forums and some say similar to you. We have first hand experience of Howe developing players into something we thought they weren't. Dan Gosling was really nothing much of anything when he was here - snippets here and there, but not really a player who really did anything of note - next thing Bournemouth sign him and he's not exactly banging them in, but you can at least see the type of player he is.
  5. Minus 17 The story behind the dream. On YouTube, just a documentary about Bournemouth's rise from administration to the PL.
  6. Only about half an hour into the minus 17 documentary, well worth a watch.
  7. Hadn't realised that Luton were also on -17 and Rotherham were on -30 the same season as Bournemouth like. That part of it was kept quiet.
  8. Can completely understand being underwhelmed or against this, but thinking he would have come here under Ashley...howeh.
  9. My lass's dad, the same one that's had Howe as his number 1 choice for manager for the last 6 years. "I've always liked him - and thought it would be interesting to see what he could do with more resources. I can still see us getting relegated though"

Feel daft for ever having thought he was being serious. Seems like he has exactly the sort of deliberately theatrical sense of rivalry I can enjoy rather than the genuinely toxic shit you often see. Funny bloke.
  11. I'm 100% sure Ritchie will be starting like
  12. Was below Rafa, Emery, and Ten Hag for me, but considering Emary was the only one of those near to being realistic, can't really complain after 14 years of mostly rubbish managers who were there to manage our expectations as much as they were the team. I have big concerns over Bournemouth's defence over the years, but having an attack-minded manager who actually tries to win for a club that's going to try to win is exactly what we all asked for. Also very relieved that it's not Martinez.
  13. Really hope they haven't jumped the gun again and he's sound with this being put out to the media.
  14. Worse than sending abuse to Khashoggi's fiance and Amnesty International? Shouldn't tar a fanbase with the same brush of its melts, especially when we know we have our own.
  15. Wish I could find that Martin Tyler clip of him just shouting "HOW?" Partridge style
  16. Twitter is just a gavel of spoiled brats all trying to out spoiler-brat each other. r/soccer on Reddit has a much better spirit to it.
  17. Howe let the Mags out Howe Howe Howe Howe I'm really sorry.
  18. So many songs with How in the title though, or that can be changed from Who to Howe
  19. aye, but people make plans. If my boss tells me on Tuesday that I've got Thursday morning off and then I'm told the next day that actually I have to come in I'm saying too bad, I've made plans.
  20. Is it not just that it was scheduled that way for Emery coming in and they didn't want to muck the players about again changing the training time at late notice?
  21. Nah, it's nigh on always because of the way Bournemouth play. All of them can't stand Bruce, Allardyce, and shudder at the prospect of Dyche etc.
  22. FWIW in my experience Howe is a popular choice with a lot of the very much not online older generation. Lost count of the amount of times I've heard "I don't know why we don't go for Eddie Howe!?" from my great uncle, uncles, father in law, and the woman at work.
  23. I would totally agree with the whole world's richest club thing if we weren't 6 points from safety and 10 games from the transfer window. It's these games from now until then that will define everything, including the players who will want to come, and what make it a big risk for him. As someone else said though, it's high risk, high reward. This job could make or break him. At this stage considering the other jobs he's turned down, I don't see him taking it, but we'll see.
