I think they know the power that they have like. They're basically a football equivilent of a 'too big to fail' bank that's essential to an economy.

FWIW, I don't think this will stop Newcastle at all, because the double edge sword of the whole money and power thing is that Newcastle have the most money and will be able to weild the most power as a result. Then that monopoly at the top will essentially start whinging about how it was only okay to act in this way when they were doing it and now that it's being done to them it's unfair. With most of these things, they've created their own eventual downfall.

There were also reports that Lille had accepted our offer and AC couldn't match it and Botman was hoping they would. Why group player/agent like that when there are stories about it being specifically the agent holding things up and that the player wants to come? That and being wrong about Botman doesn't stop people posting about him apparently not wanting to come here and how we should move on though.

None of you have a clue what you're talking about or what's going on. Exactly the same was claimed about Botman, with the same know-nowt posts saying we should move on. A few weeks later he's signing for us.

The same was said about Botman not wanting to come here as well, so it's not that obvious

He was apparently desperate to join us after West Ham, SBR wanted him and FS instead went for the 'name' option with Nicky Butt. Just another daft decision in Newcastle's history.

What I've seen of Botman looks impressive, but similar to Dortmund being after Ekitike, the best defender I've ever seen rating him and trying to take him to AC Milan is a big indicator for me.
