Aye, he has proper centrist dad energy like
-
I thought ( nudge nudge wink wink) had been taken down
-
I don't think anyone doubts he has contacts. It's that the posts about it are vaguer than Septic Peg's lottery winner predictions.
-
If there's a big gap between signings now and fans start getting impatient (like what happened inbetween us signing Wood and Bruno) watch what he does. Guarantee it'll be something contrarian and positive. He's the most extremely divorced man I've ever encountered.
-
Weird how our resident ITKer didn't say anything about Pope or Botman coming by posting 'our next signing will have a head' or something 5 days before it happened like.
-
I think they know the power that they have like. They're basically a football equivilent of a 'too big to fail' bank that's essential to an economy.
-
It's got no chance of succeeding like. Look at what happened when UEFA investigated Man City and Man City just got private investigators to do the same to them then took their ban to CAS and got it overturned depite blatantly breaking FFP. This is what happens when you create financial monsters with extreme power. Whether we like it or not our owners are likely the be the biggest ones out there.

We'll have done it in exactly the same way tbf, by swinging the big dick of money around. I fully expect Newcastle to act in exactly the same way if Jeff Bezos decided to buy Crystal Palace or someone.
-
FWIW, I don't think this will stop Newcastle at all, because the double edge sword of the whole money and power thing is that Newcastle have the most money and will be able to weild the most power as a result. Then that monopoly at the top will essentially start whinging about how it was only okay to act in this way when they were doing it and now that it's being done to them it's unfair. With most of these things, they've created their own eventual downfall.

Football and the way it's controlled is a fucking excellent way to learn about how all industries go when there are a handful of companies who hold all the power and are left to more or less self-regulate.
-
It's canny mad that Matty Longstaff had the confidence to choose 4 and that he was allowed to like.
-
Ever since I listened to a few Ashworth interviews I've been thinking that Dummett is going to be one of those players that's used at U21 level to help develop players and bring them through.
-
Not sure it's the reason, but it's in a residential area as well.

It didn't just come from Italy. The best we got from UK journos at one point was that we hadn't given up. There were also reports that Lille had accepted our offer and AC couldn't match it and Botman was hoping they would. Why group player/agent like that when there are stories about it being specifically the agent holding things up and that the player wants to come? In short no one knows anything and no one learns any lessons.
-
Whether it was always about that or not, we had report after report saying he wanted to go to AC Milan followed by posts on here along the lines of 'he clearly doesn't want to come here. Move on' which is my point, no one had a clue. No one has a clue Likewise there have been reports that Ekitike wants to come here and it's his entourage that are being difficult. That and being wrong about Botman doesn't stop people posting about him apparently not wanting to come here and how we should move on though.
-
Very good signing on paper
-
None of you have a clue what you're talking about or what's going on. Exactly the same was claimed about Botman, with the same know-nowt posts saying we should move on. A few weeks later he's signing for us.
-
The same was said about Botman not wanting to come here as well, so it's not that obvious
-
The obsession with him is infinitely more embarrassing than him tbf
-
He was apparently desperate to join us after West Ham, SBR wanted him and FS instead went for the 'name' option with Nicky Butt. Just another daft decision in Newcastle's history.
-
What I've seen of Botman looks impressive, but similar to Dortmund being after Ekitike, the best defender I've ever seen rating him and trying to take him to AC Milan is a big indicator for me.
-
You gonna stick around? You're a good poster, it would be nice to have another non-NUFC fan around.
-
Yeah, Downie's definitely top of that B tier now on current form imo, below Ornstein and Romano.

I really, really like Phillips. Not sure he fits the way Man City play mind.
