Bale's a greedy mercenary that we should stay well clear of, I don't care how good he is! What's that? He's possibly taking a gigantic pay cut to go and play for his boyhood club in the championship?...Avoid! He's obviously finished!

Being deliberately shit is definitely the way to go if you want to be a success as a commentator on NUFC affairs like. Tweet and put out YouTube videos, then laugh your way to the bank as the people who can't stand you share your tweets and videos.

Hopefully the enquiry is only so Ashworth can go to Staveley with a "£60m for Diaby is a bargain, Morata's £50m!" argument.
-
Can see why like, but it's mainly because of the element of the unknown. He's young and raw, learning his game, would be in a new league with increased pressure. If he can jump through those hoops and ASM also doesn't improve then I know what you mean.

So what I originally thought, which is just absolutely crackers. It's not 1 or 2 players, it's the full spine of the team minus Kane that would miss out to players from more or less every tournament in my lifetime. Even then Kane misses out to 96 Shearer and 86/90 Lineker. In 2010 we also started Gerrard, Lampard, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Wayne Rooney, and had Michael Carrick and Jermaine Defoe on the bench. The argument just doesn't make sense, particularly as Saka and Rashford are regular starters too.

France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Portugal, probably Spain despite having no striker.
-
I wonder why that might be? Could it be down to the person responsible with turning a set of individuals into a team? As for the rest, definitely not. Whether the England team picked itself or not there are countless players who couldn't get in previous teams or squads who would walk into this team, particularly in goal, central defence, and central midfield. So many strikers that would be just behind Kane in the pecking order or playing alongside him as well.
-
You honestly can't be serious man. That's absolutely ridiculous
-
We have a cracking set of right backs, and a truly world class striker. Foden's getting there and Sterling's hit form under Southgate. Beyond that, making a case for the likes of Pickford, Stones, Maguire, Rice, Phillips as being equal or better than their equivalents across the other teams out there is a huge stretch.
-
Seriously are all of you people claiming we have the best players we've seen in our lifetime on smack? I'm sure you believe it for whatever reason, but unless you're like 12 years old the idea that this set of players are the best in our lifetimes is a proper joke like.

Finding it a lot harder to detect the sarcasm in this post than in mine

I know I said the World Cup 2018 squad was shit at the time and said we'd get slaughtered. But we got to a world cup semi final and a European final, so they must be the best English players since 66. Ferdinand, Terry, Scholes, Lampard or Gerrard, and Rooney couldn't hack it against Romania, the Yanks, Algeria, the Germans, and Iceland, but Maguire, Stones, Rice, and Phillips did so are better! Southgate did fuck all but hold them back with his negative shit. We only played easy teams in 2018 btw! The good ones we beat had nothing to do with Southgate, it was the players and home advantage and luck I know easy teams beat hard teams at tournaments but we could have done better and would have won the Euros with a better manager. Ask anyone outside of the Southgate wank along on here and they'll tell you all that togetherness, team bonding, restored pride bollocks had nowt to do with him. It's just bullshit spread by his mates the guardian and Gary Lineker

Always love how so many football songs sound like they were written by a first school kid His name is Hugo and he is from France and he went to Newcastle to score loads of goals

Some people are honestly psychotic like.

Who had 'post-golden generation Rentford Rejects inexplicably reimagined as the best players we've ever had' on their daft cunt bingo card?
-
Howe is on record as saying it would be his ultimate job. Thankfully he also said it would be something he'd want to do much later on because he enjoys being able to do regular coaching too much.
-
Ah no way, he was probably my favourite caller. Was only on the phone the Monday after Burnley.
-
You should want Southgate to be the manager for as long as possible if you're a Newcastle fan anyway, because Howe's name will definitely be in the mix.
-
Citation needed tbh

I didn't say you couldn't? I just said I don't. Yeah, and worse teams have done better. Like I say, no guarantee at tournaments but I don't consider what Belgium have done as successful in the context of the talent they have. No point getting into a player by player analysis of whether they're a golden generation or not really, but I disagree that it's just De Bruyne and Hazard and think their squad would have done better with a manager better than Martinez, I don't even know how that's remotely controversial tbh.
-
His track record is exactly why you can look at that Belgium squad and then look at his achievements and make the case that they'd have achieved more with a better manager. I thought he was naïve at Wigan, and terrible at Everton. The improvement that he'd need to have made for me to not make that case is massive and I definitely don't think he's made the case for a counter argument with Belgium. At least not yet. Like I say, you can't guarantee success at tournaments, but there's no way you can look at a semi at the World Cup and a quarter final at the Euros with that squad and think of it as mission accomplished or successful. In the context of Belgium's history, definitely, but not in the context of the talent they have.
-
Yes, definitely. You can't guarantee success at tournaments, but the level of talent they have is obscene and he's a manager with no real track record of success in tournaments or anywhere for that matter.
