  1. FWIW the point I was making was more that the changes need to happen above rather than they shouldn't happen. We have an abundance of food worldwide that's being thrown out while 9 million people starve to death every year, all to uphold capitalism. I'm pretty sure we could reduce the amount of meat we consume and still have enough food to go around,
  2. The food chain argument doesn't hold up imo. The fact that we have a developed conscience coinciding with industrialised, alternative ways to get the nutrients we need is what sharply distringuishes as being separate from the rest of the food chain.
  3. Or the male chicks that are immediately killed in the egg industry, or the way cows are treated for milk. Tbf, I don't think anyone should be criticised anyway because it's more or less impossible to live an unhypocritical life - even vegans choosing soya are 'guilty' of funding deforestation. It's all a micro-consumerist distraction, if you're doing your best you're doing your best, if you're not you're not. Either way it's not the level at which change will make any difference beyond your own conscience.
  4. The horse meat thing was the maddest like. It just goes to show how strong the boundaries we set are. I've said it before and I'll say it again like, make veganism as accessible as eating meat and I'll make the jump like. I'm half way there and eat meat less than I used to anyway, the food is sensational now as well.
  5. He's a few stamps short of a free coffee and he's seen some serious shit in his life, but even he didn't stay there that long like.
  6. I'm far too cynical to believe him like, but I also feel bad because I don't.
  7. I get what WM is saying though. My step-brother worked at an abattoir and if intentionally causing pain is the defining line, then from what he told me abattoirs and the meat industry definitely aren't exempt.
  8. It's becoming more and more clear that football supporters are turning into football consumers. You'd expect the ones doing the selling to treat us that way, what I didn't expect is just how much supporters would start demanding to be treated that way.
  9. Now that we have Trippier and Bruno, I see it as a changing of the guard in terms of leadership anyway.
  10. A better graph would have the red on a gradient to account for outliers while still showing the general trend.
  11. It's honestly probably deliberate. Marketing departments often try to be clever with this sort of thing
  12. I'd say he's at the absolute limit of fanciful before getting into delusion, as Trippier and Bruno were. Can't see him leaving Juve for anyone tbh, but he'd be my dream RW signing.
  13. He's played a fair bit for Man City this season towards the end. Haven't seen anything other than quality from him tbh, defensively, on the ball, and from set pieces.
  14. You've got to trust Howe, especially if attacking full backs are critical to how he wants us to play, but I really will be gutted if we don't keep Targett like. Not keeping someone that good feels alien, he's been magnificent. No risk because he's a known quality. An 8/9 defensively every week and a 7 overall And he can improve his attacking play Let's hope that if he does go it's a Kelly to Beardsley and Sellars to Ginola situation where no one wanted Kelly or Sellars to go but then we immediately got it once we saw Beardsley and Ginola.
  15. Was never sure on Ake at Bournemouth but every Bournemouth fan I've encountered has said that he was absolute quality. Every time I've seen him at Man City he's been defensively sound like, very comfortable on the ball and a goal threat as well.
  16. Not a chance that the Castore post then delete wasn't deliberate either
  17. Disagree, there are still loads of documents waiting to be declassified re alleged Saudi embassy involvement. Agree to the extent with the last part, but then again they did also chop up a U.S journalist and had literally nothing happen to them. We'll see how that relationship changes if we ever diversify our energy supply. Anyway, Dan Ashworth eh
  18. Disagree, they allegedly did in my alleged opinion, allegedly. Anyway, Dan Ashworth eh
  19. You're out of your tree if you think the state that (allegedly) funded 9/11, killed a U.S journalist, and have the U.K on the hook for oil and weapons are going to take any culturally exchanged influence from owning one of its football clubs. If they progress, great, but it'll be nothing to do with our influence, not least when the overwhelming majority of our fans will be spending their time defending them, rather than making any naive attempts to positively influence them.
  20. 17/18 was still a great kit imo. Ruined by the sponsor like.
  21. Can't see us spending that much on someone who's about to turn 29.
  22. Feel like we lost Puma at exactly the point they started making some really nice kits.
  23. Yeah, everyone seems to imagine themselves in a higher class or in a fictionalised place when they're reminiscing about a past era. Think I wasted a good few years of my early 20s looking to go on holiday to what boiled down to Enid Blyton's version of the '50s English countryside. All of these people who talk about having past lives as well, they're always spice merchants and noblemen, but they're never slaves, serfs, or slave owners are they.
