This opinion isn't that uncommon, which is a big part of why I think he's so overrated. It's apples and oranges, but even with that in mind he can't lace Busquets' boots.
-
Dismissing it in that way also isn't really an argument tbf. I've said why I think he was overrated and I've been saying it for years, so it's not like I just said he was overrated and left it at that.
-
His receipts represent why he's overrated. A player of his ability shouldn't have those honours. He's not alone, there are tons of players whose achievements far surpass their abilities, he's just an extreme example of that. A player of his ability should never have been involved in a 'who has the better midfield?' question vs Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets. He was also massively protected by refs, and had that combo of being a properly dirty player who got away with murder and being a play acting prick with it.
-
This part of his game is massively overlooked imo. Don't think we really need the lock picker people mention when we're against a low block, but more get in sync with the ball after that and pur other attackers.
-
One of the most overrated and over protected players of all time.
-
Wasn't Villa's like 98% or something just last year?
-
Very different starting points between the two clubs tbf. When our takeover happened most of the squad needed an overhaul and we had no saleable assets, at that time Villa already had half of the best players they still have now.
-
He's absolutely fucking class on the ball this lad. Still expecting him to get tackled and put us in real trouble, but it just hasn't happened.

Best finisher we have by a mile, so good.

Their number 3 was the worst I've seen us play for a while. Even on the goal that wasn't an obvious mistake from him, Barnes basically took the coastal route around him to score and he got nowhere near. -
Loves pockets more than Ronnie O'Sullivan

Very good stuff. Another game where you can see us slowly but surely getting towards clicking up front. Never gave them a sniff and could have had more. Bruno aside a great night. Lovely touch from Trippier giving Miley the armband as well. Pope: 7.5 Trippier: 7.5 Thiaw: 7.5 Botman: 8 Hall: 8.5 Bruno: 7 Miley: 7.5 Joelinton: 7.5 Ramsey: 7 Tonali: 7 Willock: 6.5 Barnes: 7 Wissa: 7.5 Woltemade: 6 Gordon: 7 Elanga: 6.5 -

They look extremely dodgy on our right side like, I'd just keep spamming "how's your touch?" balls in that general area and seeing what Barnes and Wissa get out of it. -
Please be okay.

Hello, is that Injury Lawyers 4 u? I need to make a claim. I've got whiplash from an accident that wasn't my fault. I was browsing the football forum of a club that was circling the drain and with nothing to look forward to just a few years ago and some of them are now complaining that they're playing too strong a line up in their important Champions League match tonight. -
Best mate at work is a Palace fan and he's gutted but also did say at the start of the season that all of this would happen, just maybe not all as quickly and in one go. Winning the FA Cup then losing Eze, Guehi, Mateta, and Glasner all within what's looking like 8 months is disastrous like.

I used to proper love Loftus-Cheek like. Class player before his injuries.
-
It's the pits like.
-
Are you doing the TBG gimmick? Could have sworn you were normally sensible.
-
Let's hope so eh
-
We did also beat them at home
-
And a change that would inevitably result in more teams sitting back.

They'll all be thinking that there's always the chance one of them is the next Palmer or whoever.
