  1. Not sure about that. Looks quite a robust chin.
  2. Personally I wouldn’t lower the tone in here by talking ‘confectionary’. Also, you can stick your chocolate up your arse I only ever eat these with my freshly brewed tankard.
  3. Makes the Tooting Popular Front look frightening.
  4. Welcome Joey! You might still win the average score award. If @Magpie doesn’t include void weeks (just leave them blank on the spreadsheet) in the average column. It’s a way to keep everyone interested if someone misses a few weeks.
  5. It’s a fair point, Chris. I’ve been out in the dark place in the past (pubs and then onto a birthday party and engagement do) and took great delight in wearing a NUFC pin badge, but I was in my twenties and similarly belligerent. Won’t dream of being unnecessarily provocative now.
  6. We have been a good side, by anyone’s reckoning since January 2022. You need two or three game changers on their game in each match to be a great side. A side that genuinely has a chance to beat anyone home or away. You know, with the newbies starting as they have, the relatively recents settled in, and some of the longer serving transformed, I think we might just have them now.
  7. Prefer to think of it as a Comanche war cry. Man’s a warrior!
  8. I feel dirty just reading that shitwipe of a paper.
  9. Spot on. Same bullshit with the Spurs demolition last season. All about their poor performance, then raving about Man City when Arsenal didn’t turn up against them. Just sit back and enjoy the squirm which is to come as we continue to improve. There will come a point when the narrative changes and they jump on the bandwagon.
  10. £££££: as answer to why we would and why they might.
  11. What a first week! Might be some of the highest scores of the season ?
  12. You’re right it was 2-0 to us (October 2014). Could have sworn it was 2-1 and also was sure Kevin Mbabu was playing up against Sterling that game. But looking at date, I’ve obviously conflated different games, as Mbabu dominating Sterling must have been later.
  13. After originally fancying us to beat Villa 4-2 or 4-3, and toning down to a 2-2, I’m going with my gut instinct. 2-1 to us. Which was the score the only time I’ve seen us win at The Ethihad.
  14. What a lovely experience and gesture from you @Cronky. Top man ?
  15. Kilcline? Less obvious but crucial.
  16. Don’t get the suited to cup games not league games thing. Both are just a sequence of one-off matches, so a style of play suitable for winning football matches is suitable for winning any one-off match?
  17. Think you’ll see he is far from ‘soft’. Human and unassuming, yes. But he ‘doesn’t suffer fools gladly’ and has a steely determination to succeed, I think driven by (to his mind) experience of failure, which means he will make hard decisions as well as anyone.
  18. Surely a great candidate for the Coloccini song.
  19. I wouldn’t confuse nice with soft. The best leaders treat everyone with equal kindness and concern. High standards and high support. The best leaders get the best out of their teams. The gap between the ‘quality on paper’ of our squad and the quality of the squads in clubs like yours is shrinking. We’ve already overtaken most in terms of team spirit; despite being somewhat second tier in terms of salaries. It would be foolish to think that team spirit/togetherness doesn’t really matter.
  20. Almiron is a top class player. Gordon has a higher ceiling than him, I think. Hoping it’s with us and peppered with silverware.
  21. Yep, Gordon and Isak have the (most hotly contested) shirts.
  22. Just ordered this… going to look great!
