Woke up feeling really excited about this transfer window. Whilst lots of disappointment last season, none of which is worth rehashing, I do think a potential positive outcome is the glaring necessity to stretch the PSR limits, move out the nonessential, unreliable, or past peak players, and give ourselves a chance of building on the improvements made in the last 2.5 seasons. I hope we do get some business done early, including outgoings and perhaps save an unexpected big signing until the 11th hour.

Shame on you! Disrespecting a famous Colonel.

I’m pleased he’s had a decent season. 14 starts, 27 sub appearances, 8 goals 3 assists. Helped get his side promoted. Must have felt much more rewarding than stagnating here. I think he’ll be an asset in PL, experience and confidence wise. Wonder if they will spend a couple of million to keep him.

Don’t be such such a small town boy.

For goodness sake keep off those stilts and out of foot crushing range of them too!

To be fair, I am one of the people happy to sign anyone. Anyone that Eddie wants is the obvious caveat.
-
Well, even if he gets sacked, he maintains he is a man, and job or no job, you can’t tell me that he’s not.

Embrace the chaos Smal. We’ll still be able to pick a pass as we run riot over the great and good.

That sounds way more serious than Tonali case. If found guilty, guess it is harder to prove, but wonder what the sanctions could be. Is it a criminal offence?

Are the best kids not in Hong Kong for a 7 aside tournament?

Just seen the goals. Dear me… some woeful defending and goalkeeping. Guess we would have made more of a fist of it with soccer sevens team involved. Are they the pick of the youngsters? Did anyone have a decent game?

Oof! Are we Sheffield United!?!

Question is Jack27, are you on a roll? ? ⚖️ -
Know nothing about the Luton striker, but the strategy of swooping for a player or two from a relegated side (when those who do know have had a chance to watch him on the PL for a season) must be in our thinking.
-
The point I was making was probably more relevant to the more modern phenomenon of balancing European games with a heavy domestic. schedule. However, apologies probably it would have been fairer to say that we finished 7th; which is a higher league position than Palace have ever managed, in the last 119 years, bar once ? And more seriously, we will surely have more players available next year. But 7th not bad, given the three cup runs and season of having the worse injury record in the top flight, plus a freakish season long ban for our main signing. I think we’ll do better next year with or without ECL.
-
I’m not into that kind of crazy lack of ambition. It’s highly unlikely we’ll have to cope with the lack of availability/injuries we had this season. A season where we still finished three places higher than Palace have ever managed, endured ‘the group of F’, and had decent domestic cup runs.
-
Makes for pretty bleak reading. Not one of the last five substantive managers even got close to two years.
-
Getting to know Gordon… aka our Anthony… and having his quality rewarded on and off the pitch, has been one of the high points of the season.
-
Where to start… did you not know there was a game today?

Is that part of the enticement to ‘come’?
