Those white boxes on the foot of each post (goal line tech?) must be great to aim at.

FWIW, I think the distance quoted 65m is likely to the point Barnes touches it not where it bounces. Which seems fair enough.
  3. Well Stuart Pearce springs to mind, had only played semi pro until 21.

    Dan Burn

Love them both but in at Number 1 (like forever….) it’s the £15,075 per game it has cost us (transfer fee only obvs) for the glory of having the handsome chunk of Swiss granite (not that one…) Fabian Lukas Schär represent us 199 times ( £167,000 for each of his 18 goals 🤷‍♂️) Christ knows how many goals he has prevented. Wor Dan is ‘ridiculously’ expensive in comparison, costing £98,484 per game (6.5 times as much). Bobby Lee cost £700,000 in 1992. The British transfer record was £3.6 that year (Shearer to Blackburn) so percentage wise Lee cost (19.4% of that) which (using £125m current Voldemort record) is £24m in today’s money (dodgy formula I know, it would have been more—£40-50m probs) but that lower figure still means he is nowhere near Fabby’s value for money, coming in as a better deal than Dan B, at £79,208 per game but still nowhere near the main man. You know when you sometimes have a moment of clarity and think wtf am I doing with my time (and my coffee is now cold) well that’s me right now. You’re welcome/I apologise delete as appropriate.
  5. Was he subbed at half time? Actually scratch that. I actually forgot that it no longer matters.
  6. Loved that goal. Incredible movement from all three.
  7. Some of the passing was absolutely top notch. Man’s a joy to watch.

    Spoil the Mulligatawny?
  9. Imagine these two with fully fit, and bedded in for a run of games, Livramento and Hall! Absolutely top tier defence. I feel somewhat disloyal to Burn (man is a literal colossus of a defender) and Schar who is possibly our best ever pound for pound player (cost for quality) and probably our best central defender.
  10. Loved his sheer joy celebrating Popey’s assist. Lovely to see such camaraderie.
  11. Made me genuinely laugh out loud.
  12. I thought both Bruno’s and Gordon’s should have been given (for what it is worth). Can’t see any referee with benefit of slow motion replays not giving them. Thought that is what VAR was meant to help with but they presumably didn’t think they were clear and obvious errors if that is the right phrase. Definitely wouldn’t have been overturned if they had been given. So this fucker has now given one against us (VAR assisted bizarrely) and not given two for us. Let’s hope we don’t get him in the final 😉

  14. Klinsman or the new @Jack14Bojangles dude.
  15. We’ve just avoided an international diplomatic incident amongst the toon brethren 😂
  16. Dearth of full backs is a bit of a pisser. Especially at this time of the season 16 games in next 10 weeks. A big enough proportion to pretty much determine our season. We should be in full swing with plenty of rotation options and we’ve a 35 year old and an out of position 33 year old to rely on.
  17. Creative! Or is it a metaphor? A lawn awash with bangers? 🤔
  18. I mean I get being disappointed by a 3-0 home defeat. But Chelsea are a really good team this season and well, seems odd to make a decision to sack him on the back of this kind of game.
  19. That seems ridiculously quick. On the back of a ridiculous decision to change Nuno. Smacks of overly involved, overly macho owner, who doesn’t know what he doesn’t know.
