  1. I definitely do. Fecking starving.
  2. What about enhancing it through my dazzling repartee??
  3. Any tips from promoted sides, Champ?
  4. He’ll fit right in with that 1970’s taste in man bling.
  5. It might, already too much of a chow on.
  6. Name change Vinny Green Baller? Subtitle knows his ball.
  7. Merseyside press has been full of it (us touting…) and is, I think, full of it (in usual meaning of the term).
  8. Just turned 23, plenty of room for improvement. May be a Longstaff alternative?
  9. Looks good in black and white!
  10. I like this! Taste buds whetted again!
  11. The anticipation was nice while it lasted.
  12. I like the prospect of two outrageously quick attackers left and right.
  13. I know very little about him but liked this quote: “González has earned his nickname of el Bicho: he's an outrageously quick attacker, capable of stop-starting past defenders like a waterbug. His long speed and his quick-twitch movements are really impressive.”
  14. Would have overlapped a season with Joelinton in the Bundesliga. Plausible source?
  15. Can’t help liking @Froggy’s posts, personally. Funny and intelligent, ardent defence of the, sometimes indefensible, football soap opera in the Metropolitan borough of Trafford. And obviously holds a candle for his secret second footy love of this other United.
  16. Logical but probably guess work. They’re not going to delay/compromise getting what we need, so maybe ‘reset’ is an overstatement. No doubt he’ll want to get started and prove his worth, but getting his fingerprints on targets will probably be more apparent in future windows. Doubt we’ll start with a blank page again given the work which will have been put in and the limited time available.
  17. That was immense. Real flashbulb memory of it, though, and not sure why, hearing that Keegan had replaced Ardiles as manager in 1992, still stands out as biggest moment for me. Loved the man and saw it as a sea change; the start of a new era. And to be fair it was (albeit temporarily) one hell of a time to be a Newcastle fan.
  18. My summary does sound a bit harsh, and I didn’t imagine you did mean that (in such stark terms). But you did say that he say he lies through his teeth, says the opposite of what he really means, and implied he had no consideration for his outgoing players. 🤷‍♂️
  19. Personally, I don’t see him as being a callous duplicitous liar (unsurprisingly). He understands the need to upgrade and the current financial context but what you get from him is cards close to chest ‘need to know’ media stuff and a genuine warmth and affection for the young people who have played for him.
  20. Think that’s the reason we’re looking at Thiaw. Guessing he’s first on the list and we’ll move on if the deal doesn’t come off.
  21. Here’s hoping, Buster…
  22. “Player sales have also been discussed and it would appear increasingly certain that England international Kieran Trippier will be sold this summer, with interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia. There are also doubts about midfielder Sean Longstaff, who only has a year left on his contract, as well as winger Miguel Almiron and centre forward Callum Wilson, who has picked up a back injury early in pre-season.” With all due respect to the players mentioned, it could be a phenomenal window if we can sell those four for decent ‘bunce’ and bring in improvements in two of the positions—perhaps stick with what we have in Midfield and use Longstaff funds elsewhere and Tripper funds/flexibility for a player capable of playing CB/RB (cover).
