  1. Maybe when he kept taking the ball off Bruno?
  2. Nice. Next! (…off to watch the League Cup final on repeat until we sign another one).
  3. An-to-nee E-lan-ga He’s gonna score a ban-ga You can feel it in the aiirr! (Over to you for clincher of a second verse…)
  4. I’d just seen him the previous evening, otherwise I’d have recommended it!
  5. That’ll be it! It was 13th June. Won’t stop me getting a gentle ribbing about why I ended up with a woman from outside of Tyneside, but at least I now have an explanation.
  6. I drove through North Shields a few weeks ago, on a Friday morning, (worked there for six years a couple of decades ago) on way to Fish Quay and there appeared to be a queue of women outside a tattoo shop. Never heard the last of it from (non-Geordie) partner.
  7. You seem like you’re a bit of a concrete thinker; at least that’s how you come across. Maybe it’s your mind that is Wanting an MOT.
  8. Incoming? Leftie for centre midfield or wing. Looking at his achievements at 22, definitely a good investment.
  9. Oh! Wasn’t aware. Don’t mind someone being ‘difficult’ on the pitch don’t want someone difficult in general.
  10. How about the last couple of prime years from World Cup winner Martinez? Would be surprised if Villa could be persuaded to recoup some dosh on him.
  11. Hope he finds a team and some ‘autumnal’ fitness, so he can play out a season or two, get loads of goals and more happy memories of his playing days. Good servant to us through some tricky times. Over one hundred games, five seasons, earned a place back in the England squad, and really pleased he got to taste the successes of the last few seasons.
  12. Did Jim fix it for you?
  13. Aye, fair enough Mick. But apart from that?
  14. Such things spill out of me Matty, if it is any consolation. Admittedly only a variant of that term and solely when calling one of my dogs (who I couldn’t love more and tbf is oblivious and probably thought her name was ‘No’ for the first six months of her life). Whilst it doesn’t mean you’ve the negative attitudes/shit values which underlie traditional use of such terms, best (for us both) to give them a swerve.
  15. Andreas ‘Headband’ Andersson, or was Daniel Cordone after that?
  16. We’re looking for support for Alexander Isak, Calvert-Lewin is only 28, a good ‘technical’ footballer, great in the air, represented England from u20s onwards, over 200 PL games, and wouldn’t be expected to start more than 15 games. Doubt we could find anyone, willing to take that role, who would be a safer bet. Would you rather have someone with that profile, a promising youngster ready to bide his time (Osula stylee), or someone (frankly deluded if we could afford him) who backed himself to oust Isak from the starting line-up?
  17. Fucking hell! Can only imagine: (a) there was a half-time oldies sprint comp and he was after some wind assistance, or (b) he was proving he could still get into the same strides he was wearing in 1975 when he met his lass. oh! Or (c) he’s had a nasty break and has an Ilizarov frame on his left leg.
  18. Fair enough, I’m definitely with the trust Howe approach. Which, controversially it seems, I’d stretch to Calvert-Lewin. £8m less outlay might make a critical difference in terms of possible other signings now or January.
  19. Well seems I guessed right last Tuesday with £52m getting it done. Does the reality of getting him, rather than the thought of amount, feel better @Chicken Dancer?
  20. His departure… was Callum ever even on the podium?
  21. I am withdrawing my copyright.
