  1. I heard from someone ages ago and I did mention on here that the consortium, if back at the table would be minus Staveley.
  2. Yes fingers crossed! This decision will be the single biggest thing to happen in terms of this happening or not. The point is, even if the CAT case takes longer to start, the PL will not want any of this playing out in public. Even if they drag their feet and stick to their guns regarding the takeover, this CAT case will damage them more than any fallout from allowing Saudi to take control of nufc. Even if PIF walked away, Mike Ashley is in this now and would see it through regardless. So either way the PL will lose out. So they will have to settle. The other alternative is too grim to think about so let’s just cross that bridge if we come to it.
  3. Italian rights are not relevant at all. There was a whole fallout between them and BeIn over organised friendlies in KSA last season. Saudi bidding is just opportunism.
  4. I see he’s arrived in for pre season 2 1/2 weeks early to put the work in. Such a good attitude this kid, never any bullshit away from football and in my opinion is making good on the potential now after a shaky start. I think he’ll continue at right back and make himself one of the first names on the team sheet before he begins to start playing further up. He knows he can do it here now.
  5. I’m more interested in what’s happening with that ladies crotch.. zebra toe?
  6. You’re missing the point, the PL will not want years of evidence coming into the public domain through CAT. Everything is resting on the jurisdiction claim. The arbitration is not winnable in my honest opinion.
  7. They (Spurs) seem to have fucked about a couple of managers now. You’d have to wonder at this point will they start to fuck Spurs about. Start negotiations and then publicly pull out of negotiations etc.. the world and it’s dog knows at this point that they are losing their best players and can’t afford to bring anything in. Who would want that gig apart from the usual charlatan journeymen?
  8. This is where we are. Arbitration has not yet started. Both sides have submitted evidence and would assume both sides will have a team of legal analysts looking through this to provide their QC’s when it actually comes to the court part of things. On the CAT side, the judge is currently considering the PL’s challenge to it’s jurisdiction in the case. He’s had it a week so far, nobody will know how long it could take, hopefully just a few weeks but that’s probably going to be the next thing that happens and we will hear about it once a decision is made. Like I said before, we lose this decision then it’s dead in the water.. all of it. If we win I believe the PL will settle, they will not want any info out in the public domain.
  9. Even just so I don’t have to ever see his smarmy face when it comes to anything to do with our club.
  10. Me neither. He literally quit a job 3 weeks into it because of a lack of transfer budget. Spurs are skint like, that was Mourinho’s remit when he took over. Promote youth in to complement the senior players because the new stadium has crippled them.
  11. I heard a rumour today, not directly takeover related but to us it is I guess. Richard Masters may be stepping down soon, to do with things about the Super League coming out.
  12. There’s no way to dress this up, it’s a knife in the back called hope. (not by Rafa btw, just the situation) We want the takeover and many of us wanted the takeover with Rafa so he could build something, something we all would have bought into. I’m jealous of Everton, I really am. And come on, anyone saying now that they don’t care he’s not coming back here is lying to themselves as much as anyone else. The man is a perfect fit for this club and the region. It’s not linked to the takeover at all though. It’s just a timing thing, one that again is against us. So small positives and all that but this one has definitely knocked the wind from my sails in terms of expectations. I don’t really know where we’re at at this point in time.
  13. I mean, Rafa isn’t going to have any inside track. The consortium are waiting on Mike Ashley’s cases before they come back in. In the meantime what’s he supposed to do? Wait around for something that may never happen? I’m bitterly disappointed, why wouldn’t we be? But it doesn’t mean the takeover will never happen, just that he’s not going to pass up an opportunity where he knows he’ll be backed and will also have a new stadium coming soon. It’s a no brainer really.
  14. Matt Ritchie having an extended run in the team went a long way to us staying up imho, sure Willocks goals were the obvious thing but Ritchie played his part in some of those too. He’s one of the few leaders in the dressing room that the club has. We’d be mad to let him leave without replacing those certain qualities. (even if it’s a different position)
  15. You’d have to wonder what Spurs objectives are now. How long would a stadium like that take to pay off? They can’t afford to have another crack at the top 4 for a while I’d imagine ?‍♂️
  16. A production company will be responsible for the camera work, it’ll be fed to all the broadcasters, but BBC could have cut to their studio or anywhere else at any point so they are fully responsible for that being broadcast. They’ve broken Ofcom’s rules by showing it so they’re going to get hammered, and rightfully so.
  17. yeah he was one of the players still in the stadium when that happened and tried to get in to help. An experience like that will set you up to deal with awful situations like this. He sounds like a top lad in fairness.
  18. The point that you’re ignoring is that Mike Ashley is taking action through CAT because The PL’s rules and regulations are a rigged game as far as our objective is. There is nothing in the arbitration case which covers a financial damages claim. This is what he’s looking for equally to the objectives of clearing the way for a takeover. The document which the judge has refused the PL access to is the commercial information which sets out the financial damages claim. So I guess the most important question is, how can the PL convince a judge that his court doesn’t have jurisdiction over a financial damages claim if they don’t have access to the document which sets out that claim?
  19. Yep it’s best to stick to what we know. The PL requested the document of how Newcastle came to the figure of compensation that they are seeking. The judge denied this. They had until today to submit their evidence of why the case should be thrown out for jurisdiction reasons. They did this today. The judge will look over what will likely be a mountain of paperwork and make a decision in a couple of weeks most likely. There’s nothing new or that could be perceived as a negative, or a positive for that matter. We knew there would be a wait. If we lose this jurisdiction thing I would not be confident of any other route being successful. It’s a hugely important.
  20. It’s quite amusing how yesterday although there was no actual concrete news, the mood was generally quite positive.. 24 hours later, with no concrete news, the mood has flipped to one of negativity once again. We have to be the most schizophrenic fanbase going when it comes to football clubs ?
  21. oh it’s definitely a reason too. I think if the PL get knocked back on their jurisdiction claim they will settle. There’s no way they’ll want all this information in the public domain.
  22. That’s my take on it too. Although the thought has occurred to me that we do win the arbitration but then the club isn’t valued at the same price as before. So the CAT case is actually all about compensation to Mike Ashley, and that’s why the judge didn’t disclose the commercial document about where St James Holdings came to a specific figure. There could be up to a 100 million drop in price and he’s making sure he gets it back.
  23. It’s never going to achieve anything but that’s not really the issue. If they want to continue doing it they should by all means. A year ago it seemed to be more than the empty gesture it’s become. I agree that the internet should be regulated to a degree, in that I mean, why not have a digital passport to sign up for things? It would go a long way to stopping idiots making racist comments online, nonces would have to stop noncing, scammers would have no place to hide and people would generally have to be a little bit nicer in their interactions with others. How can that be a bad thing?
  24. In hindsight the best thing Caulkin could have done was to step back from it completely. The thing is, once (if) the takeover happens, all these people will be in its shade and will be quickly forgotten when it comes to what happens next with nufc
  25. Well as it may or may not be you, can you give us a summary of what happened at the bbc?
