A bulk of the newspapers picked up where they left off with the “Killer Saudi Prince” thing. Someone has to have been feeding them new information that they’d bother running with this again. Id say that’s what the reference is to. One thing I did notice though was that the consortium/club were very naive in terms of using the press. They should have been running with a corruption theme to muddy the waters and put pressure on the PL.

Yes it would seem that arbitration is about to start and that someone on the PL side has been talking to the media once again. Hence the “leaks” comment by NDM. The media have reverted to the negative campaign against Saudi almost in unison. I wonder if that’s because they are worried about losing the case? It’s like throwing the gauntlet to the consortium.. “ok so you want to buy the club, be prepared for an endless press frenzy”

With Wilson and ASM back fit I wouldn’t rule out anything happening. They concede goals and were lucky to hang on v Leicester last weekend. I’d worry about us defensively though.
-
Alan Smith was atrocious as well.

The published emails can only add to the case. The club will argue that the test wasn’t applied according to the PL’s own rule book and it’s looking increasingly certain that this was the case. Whether they can prove a direct separation between PIF and the state might not even be important anymore.

No not directly related to a takeover but it’s a positive first step in what could be a messy divorce from Mike Ashley. It might only be a temporary measure but it’s a symbolic one. Castore have little to gain over running the shop when they already had the kit deal just like Mike Ashley had little to lose by keeping the shop open under SD, no rent to pay etc.
-
It seems like a baby step to taking all that SD signage out of SJP altogether so you can’t see it as anything but positive. We can only speculate the setup of the castore deal but would be safe to assume if the direct link between SD and the club shop has been severed, they’ll need someone to come in and run it until they get to grips with the retail side of the business.

Amdy Faye comes to mind as an outsider but Jonjo really does have this one by some distance.

What are you on about? ? who’s talking about dividing the fan base?
-
Why would that be a negative? Two clubs in one city I mean? It would take decades to build up a club to be truly considered a rival for nufc anyway. If the club did get a takeover, a new entity could link up and be a source of local talent. If history over the last 50 years has taught anything is that some of the best talent England have ever produced has come from this region and that nufc has let most of it pass them by.
-
If they even raised a few hundred grand it would be much better and far more enjoyable to just start a new club. If the donations kept up each year it could really become something. A place for local talent not to get swallowed up and sent on too early. The idea of raising a few million to buy 1% of nufc just seems pointless compared to the journey you could have with something new.

At the time it did seem like that. He was just reporting things we didn’t want to hear, but he wasn’t wrong. In fact it pretty much went the exact way his reports suggested it would. A lot of water under the bridge since then as far as the relations between Saudi and Qatar, still work to do but I think his reporting now reflects that. He knows about as much as we do in terms of the arbitration but that’s a huge positive, no leaks etc. I’m not massively confident we’ll get what we want from it either (the arbitration). It could eventually go the way of the last ruling against us, a “soft no” as it were. But might leave some room for the PL to approach the test a little differently.
-
It’s arguable he got just as much if not more clicks by writing all the negative pieces a year ago. If this gets put forward again I suspect we’ll hear little from BeIn/Qatar, whether this extends to the Khashoggi Widow remains to be seen though.
-
We knew that though. Bruce being here or not being here totally depends on a takeover happening, as does the relationship many of us will have with the club going forward. If Ashley is still the owner next season I’m being honest in saying I’m not really going to care all that much who the manager is. It’ll do me good to detach myself from it and spend the time with the bairn instead. There’s no chance I’ll indoctrinate him into this absolute travesty. Wouldn’t do it to my worst enemy..
-
I think we can all agree that he’s not a defender but unfortunately that’s the only way he can get in the side in its current state. Should he get a new contract? Damn right he should. But that’s not a given that he will play. Ideally we would have a stronger team that would give him the platform to perform better. His end product is excellent at times.

Burnley were one dimensional. Dyche would go on to be hated if he were manager here, no doubt about that. Once we figured out not to leave that right back role vacant like we did in the lead up to their goal, they were left with lobbing long balls into the box for the rest of the game. I’d be furious if I were a Burnley supporter. We were rank, totally there for the taking. Should have been out of sight long before ASM and Wilson came on. Good win though, not quite safe yet but Fulham must be fearing the worst now,

Someone on the radio said it may not have been given because Gayle was judged to be offside? ?♂️ What in the actual fuck.. where was he supposed to go after his momentum took him past the post?
-
Graeme Jones pulling his best Iain Dowie face on the bench there

Endless long balls and crosses into the box against Burnley… yes, that’s how to beat them…

Shocking. This 3 at the back with wing backs clearly isn’t working. That pass down the left has been there for them since kick off and it was eventually going to lead to something. Murphy has been poor with tracking back
