They’re not going to pay him off to leave. They don’t mind relegation, it’s a viable option. He wants to go, the players want him to go but the board are intent on seeing this out so just sit back and enjoy it.

*nice new forum btw! I 100% believe now at this point that relegation is a planned one, leave a sub par manager with a sub par squad and it will take care of itself without seeming too obvious what we’re doing. The financial implications will be totally offset by what we get for some of the better players and when the consortium takes over within a much much easier o&d’s test, we won’t even care about losing the likes of Almiron or ASM when we come back up. Ashley isn’t even bothered enough to come back from the Middle East, he knows we’re going down and he’s not bothered by it. Steve Bruce is literally begging to be sacked, but to his frustration it’s not happening. He can’t quit because he’s repeatedly said he won’t walk away from a fight. He and his media buddies have nowhere to hide now, they’ll desert him like rats from a sinking ship over the next few weeks. Then in the summer the club will be able to sack him for free when the relegation clause in his contract is activated. It’s the only thing that makes sense. If the club is still being actively sold to PIF and PL status was a total necessity, the club would have acted on their wishes. Both parties are not at odds with each other, so sticking with Steve Bruce is something all sides agreed on, they know the points tally, they know the fixtures. Any analyst could tell them relegation is a likely scenario so they are walking into this with eyes open. The only one who’s not in on the joke here is Steve Bruce so enjoy the next few weeks. His face is going to get more and more red and flustered as his absolute ineptitude is laid out for all to see.

He’s done his best to get sacked, no way he’ll give up a pay off though despite wanting to be anywhere but here.

The view on Shelvey is pretty much a general consensus at this point. Don’t even know where to start with Hendrick. The thing is, players are going to look better when playing in a better team, as in a team that’s coached to play better. Which is fucking everyone but us. The players don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing. There is zero attempt to get the best out of what we have available, which is not a lot but should be more than what’s happening right now.

What’s that got to do with anything? Oh it’s ok he’s got a serious injury because he’s not our best player? He’s not our worst by a country mile. He’s easily our best midfield player Get well soon, Isaac. He’s been w*** for ages. Got a bit of a free pass from fans because he’s got a bit of mobility but he’s s****. You’re focussing your energy in the wrong place. The whole team have been wank all season. It’s all on the manager. Hayden has gotten his fair share of stick in the past except he stuck it out and improved, especially under Rafa. Our midfield will be like soft cheese for the remainder of the season without him. Have a look over any of the match threads where we won, I guarantee each will have comments about how Hayden was immense.

Odds on to be sacked with Paddy Power now 8/11

Steve “we got a corner which was pleasing” Bruce

We’re absolutely horrendous to watch

What was BZG/I’s plan? They didn’t have the money to buy a bag of chips let alone a football club. Seems like they were intent on blagging their way to a point where they could start borrowing against it’s value. It’s so weird how a supposed Sheikh and his business cronies would ruin their reputation for something so unattainable for them.
-
Maybe the 3 Steve’s should be given the task of “guarding the bee” while the match is taking place.
-
Who are these 6 or 7 teams? Is he counting up as high as wolves or is he counting Sheffield United as one? Absolute fucking arsehole. We could be in the bottom 3 before we even play our next game. I think he’s trying to get fired now. Then he can absolve himself of the shit job he’s done.

There’s something amiss with both of the brothers. Yeah we can use the situation to bitch about the club and Steve Bruce but to be honest, I wouldn’t pick them either, not on what they’ve both shown over last 2 seasons. The only one who looks like he belongs in that midfield is Hayden. The rest are a liability in one way or another. Matty scored a winner against Man Utd, he’ll always have that in terms of rapport with the fans, but honestly, whether he leaves or not doesn’t concern me in the slightest, or his brother.

The Bowyer thing is spot on. It was a dismal piece of summer business and just highlighted the beginning of the end for Robson through no fault of his own. I suspect Shepherd had told him it was a consolidation season. Spend fuck all and then pocket the CL money so we could try again the following year but then we never got there. Then within a few seasons Mike Ashley was here and we were fucking relegated. It does lead me to believe that financially things weren’t all that great, I know people will point to revenues back then but they must have been up to something to try and go on the cheap like that.

Never understood why when we were safe Rafa never brought Merino back for final few games. If I remember correctly he didn’t even bring him off the bench, think that’s what tipped Merino in favour of going back to Spain. Whilst I’d take Rafa back in a heartbeat in the current situation, he also had a few blind spots like most managers. When it comes to Rafa I'm happy to trust that he has his reasons. Was a shame it didn't work out with Merino, but a bigger shame it didn't work out with Rafa. I think it's always worth considering that Merino was affected by the uncertainty surrounding Rafa's future. This. Rafa wasn’t trying to stomp on Merino’s career, he was trying to protect him and do what was best for him (and for Rafa too obviously) The fact is, we couldn’t break up the Diame/Shelvey combo. They were too effective. He was homesick too. Rafa didn’t have much option but to allow him to leave. He’s not going to get everything right but if you’re gonna trust a manager, Rafa is the one.

100% he went there to bang the local talent. Next year he’s going to appear on Pornhub as “fake football manager”

Seriously, who gives a shit?

There’s no doubt in my mind she’s referring to us. I read that as, she’s reinforcing the reasons why they (PIF) want to buy the club, possibly hoping those involved read this and use it as a reminder to get things moving again.
-
Cross for Gayle's winner against West Brom. ? that just reinforces the point. His end product is good when he gets a chance
-
Two important contributions this season, there was that free kick to get us level and then the cross for Lascelles. We’d already be in the bottom 3 if it weren’t for him. You could argue that he’s had as much impact where it counts as ASM. Needs to start against Brighton
-
He’ll turn up at the training ground to offer them a bonus, but there won’t be a soul around. Left standing there to look at the cabbages all over the place while his jeans flap about in the wind.
-
He was far from our worst player tonight. He had the measure of Mings every time. An astute coach would have targeted that at half time.
-
And there it is ?

Has Jones been giving any instructions?, can’t say I’ve seen him since the match started
