spectacular work Lost a few balls to the graveyard on Saturday, aye
-
Top class grief directed at a dog who got onto the pitch at Sunderland RCA this weekend, "get off, you're useless. You've got two left feet"
-
That's what's taking all the time. Poor lad is smiling, saying "yeah we had guys like that at villa too" and Team Social Media is cutting for the retake telling him it's not the same and he has to look more like he understands that people really love Newcastle United
-
They're fucking shite I am now too old and am already a Newcastle fan so I get that I'm not the target market here but they're just playing up to the same shit that literally any club with a bit of history could play up.
-
Aye the whole "these new players will just not be used to fans who are passionate about the game and sometimes come from families who have been fans for generations" schtick is pure toecurling like waiting days for "we're going to show you a lad who proper loves Newcastle talking about how much he proper loves Newcastle, Jacob. Look emotional"
-
Next there'll be a subtle variation to the rules which means that you still have to sell all your good players to keep afloat but you'll only really benefit from player sales if you're selling somebody really good to the big six
-
Had to turn the radio off listening to Radio Newcastle's Sunderland lad waxing lyrical about the full press room at the SoS, "they all want a piece of Sunderland now, nobody was interested for the last eight years". There's still nobody interested man, they're just obliged to cover this league
-
Sunderland RCA with Alnwick today, another new ground for me. Best get away early or I'll get stuck in the hordes heading to Proper Sunlun
-
Football press are by now actually worse than the political press for just setting their own news agenda for engagement and rage, like. AI must by now be able to create some sort of automatic aggregator keeping track of all the witless and baseless shit spouted by journalists and shills vs. the reality of what actually happened, to keep these fuckers honest Ornstein 8% correct, Jacobs 4% correct, Alan Oliver 80%
-
been to Esh Winning a couple of times, grand old ground that one, and Alnwick's St. James' Park is pretty brutal through the winter, but aye I'm expecting it to be pretty exposed
-
Spartans biffed again as well. Look forward to playing them in NL1 next season it's less of a drive than most fixtures On that, happy to finally be sharing a division with Tow Law though. That's a place I've always wanted to go and now I have an excuse to
-
I'm not sure, he's a local lad and I used to work indirectly with his dad but I'm not sure of the wider family. He's a gifted player like, could play at a much higher level. Speaking of high levels Euan Potts now has 11 in 5, somebody was saying he was national top scorer in all leagues
-
what an epic tale this is turning out to be This is the sort of thing that ends up with him having a breakdown, becoming a world class barista with a big hipster beard at the Grey Street Costa and staying there for decades before somebody rediscovers him and his story in 2060 and makes a documentary Still preferable to him going to Liverpool I reckon

It doesn't embed then but it's worth a look

Not sure if Instagram embeds but this is Alnwick Town's most legendary goal of the last few years https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE4MDg0MDMxODEwMzMxMzc0?story_media_id=3067075100465366951_1505289499&igsh=MTZjbnlmbG43YWF6dg== Hell of a player Joe, could play at a much higher level but thank fuck he chooses not to
-
Hell of a hit did the wind keep it from the keeper? Looks like he should have got to it comfortably, might just be the angle like
-
Are the crowds dwindling as they deteriorate? I always wonder whether clubs with reasonable infrastructure like Spartans would actually survive a fall to a lower league structure (see also: Terriers)
-
I was worried for Alnwick today with 85% of the first team injured, on holiday or at Oasis but they played out the most entertaining 0-0 I've seen for decades with FC Hartlepool. Really good game and given the cobbled together nature of the team and the formation a really good result too. Pleased they're getting some points on the board before they hit their traditional October to February slump
