A new low even by our current standards.

https://www.youtube.com/results?sp=mAEA&search_query=tyneside+life Not a fan but useful for fans outside the region to see what area they’re talking about. Think his conclusion is wrong based on a couple of questions he’s put to Urban Green, but interesting line about the club buying the Sky Offices at Strawberry Place.

Dawn Howe (aka the new Dolly Potter) will be outside the Bridges every Saturday collecting signatures.
-
PIF should snap up the chance to build new arena and increase our income, that plan seems to have stalled due to costs, stick a ferry landing there as well and bring the river really to life, renovate the whole quayside along to new stadium that’s a lasting legacy.
-
Could build a ferry landing at the arena site, new landing being built on the north side at Shields, few pick up spots on the way up the river, be a very pleasant way to travel for the match.
-
Let’s see Dawn Howe change her tune when it’s announced a 70k super stadium is being built on it.
-
It would certainly expand the city centre footprint having a stadium down there, it might even encourage people to get in the stadium earlier spending their money.
-
He’s come to that conclusion from an account with 464 followers, I’d say 1 billion for 10k seats makes a move far more likely.

The Wetherspoons and Globe were all Newcastle but was pretty shit compared to previous Wembley appearances.
-
They were much louder during the 90 minutes.

Was a bit galling we’d mocked the mackems for their no shows at Wembley in terms of support and then we were exactly the same. Even on Baker Street and coming up Wembley Way there just wasn’t that same radged up support I’d become accustomed to on these occasions, was really deflating and depressing, whatever people say about the Mancs they made far more noise in the stadium than we did. Like you say night and day between LC Final and Cardiff when we got absolutely hammered.
-
I think it was a game that highlighted where our real problem lies composure and creativity in the final 3rd. Regardless of the opposition it was fucking poor and highlighted our lack of technical players yet again.
-
Don’t think we have anyone with the ability to see those passes unfortunately, add to the fact Isak has been isolated all season the poor kid had no chance tonight.

Everton vs. Newcastle United: 05/10/24 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

Think this will be a good barometer of where we’re really at this season, good win and where back on track, but another poor performance and defeat will make the City performance look like a flash in the pan. -
I think standing at away games probably came in regularly around the Dalglish era for us, football went through a strange time post all seater stadia for a bit don’t think anyone knew how to behave for a bit, but agree there’s a real reluctance to stand at home for some reason, it’s in stark contrast to Spurs new stand, the Kop, large swathes of Old Trafford, Gwladys Street End, South Stand Elland Road and even the Emirates. Where an outlier in this and seems to really impact the support at SJP in terms of song book and general noise, certainly think the atmosphere is a myth by lazy journalists.
-
I’m basing it on last few years the support couldn’t be arsed to even stand at Wembley it was embarrassing.
-
Bollocks it’s bang on support is shit.
-
Ground is made up of 90% customers and 10% supporters who want to get behind the team sad state of affairs. We’ve literally apart from wor flags got zero supporter culture anymore, I’d say at most PL grounds including top 6 large swathes stand throughout the match, its way to much effort for our lot who just want to turn up take a few pics, eat some shit food and run back and forward to the bog. Support was finished for good in Ashley years and won’t ever recover now.
-
The whole starting midfield tonight are poor technically in possession, don’t think our wide players are particularly creative, or composed, needs a real change in philosophy from Howe on the type of player he wants. The fact we wanted Elanga in the summer before even getting into the fee they wanted rang alarm bells for me, just more of the same all pace and power with no craft.
-
Not great we just look such a poor footballing team unless where pressing at 100mph.
-
The arena site would be spectacular with bridges as back drop and coming into city via train would be some sight.
-
Some context here and an indication of the ambitious nature of the plans if Edwards figures are correct. Bernabeu redevelopment cost 1 billion which would suggest a full stadium upgrade including the Milburn and Leazes. Spurs new stadium cost 1 billion with London prices and think Everton’s new build has escalated to circa 750 million. If 2 to 3 billion is being quoted for a new stadium, I think where talking Sofi/Mercedes Benz stadium level and something which would trump anything in this country by some way.
-
Someone pointed out we’d sold out and funnily enough the thread died.
-
Was great the 1st season it was built after we got promoted, probably declined every year since but had its moments, never recovered after the current extension which is why any redevelopment can’t just be a mirror image at the Gallowgate End.
