Must be watching a different game he offers zero.

Narrow view they are further committing to the area and it can only help grow the airport it’s good news.

The only chance we have is if the games all of a sudden catch up with Liverpool, extra time against PSG would be welcome. We would need Isak to produce something spectacular, not impossible but just can’t see our back 4 being up to the job unfortunately. Where riddled with individual errors and they will just have to much for us.

Exactly I’d happily pay over the top again to be at Wembley if I thought the occasion would be worth it. Yeah we’ll probably get turned over but where used to that, what I’m not used to is how bad our current fanbase is, if I thought our fans would make an occasion of it and you’d hear the Blaydon Races, Geordie Boot Boys and Howay The Lads etc reverberating around Wembley i’d be there come hook, or crook. Unfortunately those days are gone and it still rankles me now that the Mancs wanted it more than us 2 years ago, it was fucking embarrassing and a major low pissing all over the reputation of a fanbase built over the years, for the Blaydon Races not to be sung once at a major showpiece was sickening and you’ve got to question if we have lost our identity completely at this point.

Think I’m completely done with it now decided to not even bother going down for the cup final, will miss the craic on the Saturday but not going to put myself through the pain on Sunday, can take getting beat but I’m done with modern football and I’ll spend a fortune just to come away depressed as fuck with the whole experience.

The only way a new stadium would help is if it allowed folk to sit with their pals and have increased standing. I’m just not convinced the club and likes of Silverstone even have that as a consideration though unfortunately. I also think having 15k fans detached in level 7 doesn’t do anything for the overall feel of the place. SJP isn’t one of these old grounds like Goodison that has kept an intimate feel, its neither a new stadium, or an old traditional ground, it’s badly designed and any small amount of noise currently created doesn’t carry.

Gone are the days when you used to get that full throated roar when we just broke over the halfway line.

They bought a 2nd choice left winger who is a dud, they could have bought Milos Kerkez and Huijsen for what we paid for Hall. It’s history now but we paid premium prices for PL experience when we clearly weren’t in a position to do so. You can’t blame the ambition but 3 transfer windows of no activity show it was badly planned and suspect that’s one of the reasons PCP went the journey.

They’re just not arsed it’s that simple, the biggest mystery is why they pay money to even be there, could save a fortune watching on tv.

Can’t see it being any different at Wembley, nobody seems to give a shit and unless we’ve just scored everybody just sits there looking glum as fuck. I’m struggling to think of a more lifeless football stadium apart from the Etihad at the moment, even the Emirates is rocking compared to SJP these days.

Most embarrassing thing about the afternoon like a fucking morgue.

Newcastle United 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion - 02/03/2025

Depressing as fuck and predictable. -
Anyone up there who wants to stand should just hold their fucking ground if anyone asks them to sit down. The other night at Anfield the whole Kop was standing and a large proportion of the opposite end behind the goal next to our lot. Much of the Kop are ageing season ticket holders and they can fucking manage to stand for 90 mins and sing.
-
Not sure what’s gone wrong but seems a lot of regular away day fans had their fill on Wednesday night it was so bad. Sad times could understand if we’d been like City won trophies and been overrun with tourists, not sure that is the case but we’ve lost our passion and identity completely.
-
No think it’ll be embarrassing and they’ll show us up completely.
-
We always used to make a good noise at Anfield, think the new away end with higher roof doesn’t help, but a lot of people say the Anfield atmosphere is shite, however they make far more noise than we do and have swathes of people standing for 90 min. Our support is pitiful at the moment and not really sure there’s any fix, I agree with Keith we’ve lost our identity of local songs and the current bunch are the worse in clubs history bar none.
-
Aye, I never heard a peep and it’ll be the same at Wembley I’ve got no doubt, half will probably have their cameras out filming the scousers singing.
-
No fan of Dubravka but fucking hell the blokes a walking disaster.
-
Positive signs for final with Isak up front.
-
Did Miller not suggest the revenue would be double from a new stadium, which will be one of the main drivers. There’ll be a lot more executive boxes around a new stadium, not to mention increased sponsorship.
-
Patience definitely needed but suspect It will be well worth the wait, 70k stadium taller than SJP, new green space and regeneration of area, stuff we could only dream of under Ashley exciting times.
-
The noise might carry better in new stadium though, there’s undoubtedly an issue when the Strawberry Corner can barely be heard from Leazes End. The stands are all lop sided and the noise either gets lost from top tier, or doesn’t carry around. Will it be a magic bullet for the atmosphere no, but it certainly can’t make it any worse.

Those 2 things get mentioned and are important aspects, but it’s more than that the place is looking old and tired, level 7 viewing is detached for 15k supporters in the ground, concourses are grim and cramped, the acoustics are shite and the East Stand just needs condemned as it’s completely out of keeping with the rest of ground. The new Everton stadium has 53k compact and close to the pitch, that’s just not possible at SJP. You are spot on though that this needs to be done correctly and as much as I want move, I have grave concerns with Silverstone involved that the ordinary fan will be way down their list of priorities.
