Passes per defensive action (PPDA and alternatively OPPDA) tells you how active the team is in pressing; the number of passes you allow the opposition on average before you make a defensive action like a press or tackle. OPPDA refers to the number of passes you make on average before the opposition makes a defensive action. 2017/18 - 13.38 PPDA (15th), 8.47 OPPDA (16th) 2018/19 - 13.99 PPDA (16th), 9.40 OPPDA (18th) 2019/20 - 19.00 PPDA (20th, 19th was Sheffield Utd with 13.71...), 7.55 OPPDA (20th) 2020/21 - 18.00 PPDA (20th), 8.27 OPPDA (18th) Notice how we've become increasingly more passive under Bruce compared to the previous 2 seasons, even if the actual output (44, 45 points) remained identical

Although Rafa left at the end of his contract which he fully served, with 5 and a half weeks before the season started.

We've given Saint free rein throughout his time here, on and off the pitch. He was in France for a bit last season. And the club statement about him going to the shops was a personal highlight for me

There is this but I wouldn't believe it yet https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/07/26/report-everton-target-allan-saint-maximin-alarmed-by-newcastles-lack-of-activity/ Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maxinin is ‘alarmed’ by the club’s lack of summer transfer business this summer and may look to move on. That’s according to The Mirror (25/07, p66), who claim that Newcastle are now fearing that they face a battle to hang onto Saint-Maximin. Saint-Maximin is allegedly concerned with the lack of activity this summer, though he could be convinced to stay if Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock rejoins this summer. Saint-Maximin is valued at around £60million by Mike Ashley, and he may look to leave Newcastle in search of a club with more spending power and ambition Everton want to sign Saint-Maximin according to a report from The Mirror earlier this month, though whether Rafael Benitez has £60million to spend on him remains to be seen.

When it happens it'll look a bit like this https://www.catribunal.org.uk/cases/12973318-mr-david-henry We get a transcript of the jurisdiction hearing after the live stream and then later a ruling whether it continues or not, this one was 3 weeks later. According to CAT rules the case is effectively paused until after this ruling so the PL haven't had to submit their defence yet, which adds another month or so to the process. Slow-paced

Think that was posted on the subreddit too. Counting League 1 wins etc for other teams yet not the Championship for us. I'd say 'big clubs apply big standards' but that just starts a war whether we are "big" - in reality who cares?

"Wayne Rooney is under further scrutiny at Derby after it emerged he was responsible for the injury which has sidelined midfielder Jason Knight for up to 12 weeks. Rooney, the Derby manager, went in for a challenge on Knight during a training game and left the Republic of Ireland international with an ankle injury which threatens to rule him out for at least two months of the crisis-hit Championship club's season."
