Honestly without the sponsor, the kids shirt for example, it's a really nice kit
-
And that year with Wonga, 15/16 the relegation season... with an outdated sponsor logo!
-
Didn't seem to do too badly with their Burnley kits. White sponsor!
-
Notice how they're using template mock-ups which makes it look far better than they will look in reality, regardless of if that's the colour scheme. Full of shading and style. Toon Report were the ones saying we are changing our logo to be like 1970s NUFC modelling Man City's badge change in 2016 fwiw

On the budget front "Newcastle were initially keen to sign Willock on a permanent deal but Bruce’s transfer budget remains unclear. Ashley is refusing to sanction any major transfer deals until after an arbitration hearing to see whether a failed takeover by a Saudi Arabian-led consortium can be revived." "The outcome of that hearing will be known later this month but Bruce does not want to wait as he looks to improve his squad and so a loan deal, possibly with a requirement to buy, makes sense."

Edwards the voice of reason now?

Makkah Newspaper if you want to trust that claims Al Hilal (Saudi club managed by Leonardo Jardim) want Miggy https://makkahnewspaper.com/article/1542302/ I don't think it's likely. They wanted Pereira according to this but baulked at their £13m asking price (70 million riyals). Opening bid about half of that at 35 million riyals, £6.7m. I imagine we'd ask far more for Miggy. Also Pereira is a bargain surely?

Maybe that's a metaphor for Ashley's Newcastle. Papering over the cracks... then papering over those papers when they crack too!

The big thing with this consortium is that they'd play to the rules, we're led to believe. What they say and what they do might be totally different like when Ashley claimed we could be Champions League in 3 years or something crazy. I shared a quote about a big 6 source not wanting any more "Leicester Citys" before, the 40 or so meetings the big 6 had before opening up talks with the other 14 clubs. Staggering the influence they have, they chose their own punishment within 6 weeks - a collective £20 million I think it was between them. I see it as more investment into football, but others obviously see us as a competitive threat or a commercial threat giving piracy links to the Saudi state.

“We had a plan for £250 million of investment in the club over the first few years, as much as we could put in,” Staveley says. “And on top of that, we had massive plans to invest in the city, in housing, everything. We talked with the council. Newcastle are the last great untapped club. The last great club with so much potential to grow and improve and with a fanbase who were already there and who wanted it so much.” https://theathletic.co.uk/1963915/2020/07/30/amanda-staveley-the-premier-league-impossible-ridiculous-newcastle-united-interview/

So that's 50 million net per season and on top of sales you could do something if that's spent wisely, and that's before the FFP reworking started to happen

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-fans-denied-250m-spending-22445462 "MirrorSport can reveal that the Saudi Public Investment Fund business plan, submitted to the Premier League, included a pledge to pump in £250m of extra cash to build a squad over five years - on top of the purchase price."

Nearly 4 years since the club went up for sale and these are the only ones who have enough funds to strike a deal. BZG, Bellagraph Nova, alleged Chinese interest in summer of 2017, Staveley 1, the Mexican group, Kenyon and GACP, the alleged Palace investor who put in the deposit, Rockefeller Capital who I think were with Kenyon another time... (forgetting anyone?) yet the ones that do have the means are held up. Last year was a write-off and so will this season if PIF+ doesn't happen. Really is all or nothing
-
Hope that kills you isn't it? If it sounds too good to be true it probably is and £250m in the squad, the area over a few years is far too good to be true when we're against the establishment fighting against it
-
Know there were some articles claiming we have about £11 million. Others £50 million. Judging off the way we're conducting business (£5m players, loans etc) I think it's fair what we're closer to!

Willock's not in the Arsenal squad at all tonight. And...
-
We're due the team leaks any hour now. Unchanged line-up was suggested last night I know
