  1. FFP can't be very pleased as things are "Everton have posted losses of almost £265m in three years" https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/dec/11/everton-make-annual-loss-of-1399m-as-covid-19-takes-toll "Everton suffered a staggering loss of £139.9m in the 2019-20 financial year – £67.3m as a result of Covid-19’s impact on football – and have proposed a new share issue to the majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, worth £250m to cover the club’s continued losses."

  4. I can't remember a "board dispute" arbitration to base precedent upon. Conte at Chelsea was a manager's tribunal and even that was leaked, including the day the hearing began and the day - two months later - a decision was made. The actual judgment I don't think was made public for that
  5. It's like looking into a weird alternate universe where we can attract anyone! Looking at unemployed managers for starters, I can't look past Conte for now. Just like it would've been Poch last year amid alleged interest, Sky ran with that and Allegri etc
  6. Yeah he did go to Saudi Arabia
  7. Luque has his name in a chant at least for him: "Albert Luque wrapped it up"
  8. "July 2021" is all we know. Hasn't stopped ITKs claiming June 28th... then July 1st... then July 5th then 12th... etc
  9. If the Premier League continues to insist every aspect of this process is confidential they won't say a word, even when it's done. I know the hearing is "The proceedings of an arbitration convened under this Section X shall be confidential and shall be conducted in private." although the club say the league can make it public if both parties agree. The outcome of arbitration I imagine is private too? I know the EFL are more open in that regard publishing decisions and all but they're after clubs constantly it feels like.
  10. Buses left the stadium around 5am. No matter how we might talk down on them, it's a whole day commitment that they've volunteered (and paid £30 for tickets) to do, can't fault people making an effort for the future of the club even if it amounts to nothing
  11. It really reunited the team even if it was just hiding the problems up above that never went away. That Liverpool game that convinced Staveley to pursue the club, on and off for the last 4 years, was one of the flag days! This is what we've lost out on, at least for now...
  12. Two entire years have passed since he left us, two different clubs he's been manager of. In fact, in 2 days, it's Bruce's 2nd anniversary with us! Caulkin said it perfectly, the best and worst thing he did was "give us hope" and talk about what could have been.
  13. Pretty much the definitive book in that field in fairness, tons of contributors (I counted over 50, including Michael Beloff the arb chair and Tom Richards who works with Nick on many of his cases including our High Court appeals). Extortionate but you probably get very good value in those 600 pages!
  14. He should post his own book on sports law https://www.amazon.co.uk/Football-Law-Nick-Marco-QC/dp/1847668828 also green
  15. Destination updated to London Luton

    Graeme Jones

From the other day, Bruce on Jones https://www.telegraph.co.uk/euro-2021/2021/07/11/frightening-steve-holland-outspoken-graeme-jones-meet-englands/ “The one thing I knew he would be is hard-working,” explained Bruce. “He will plan and plan to make sure that the training is right, and he is strong-minded. What you want to avoid in management is people who just say yes to you the whole time. “He’s driven, he’s a typical Geordie, rolls his sleeves up and gets stuck into it. I can’t speak highly enough of him. He brought something to us last season. “The other thing I liked about him was how quickly he integrated into the team behind the team. I’ve never had one voice around me and he has been a terrific addition.” “Gareth liked the fact that he had that international experience – he’s used to being alongside big names,” Bruce added. “When you’ve been around the likes of Hazard, Lukaku and De Bruyne, he wasn’t going to be fazed going into the England dressing room. That will have helped enormously and he will not be telling Gareth what he wants to hear. “He’ll have an opinion and Gareth will make the decisions. That’s why he was my first choice at Newcastle – that and the fact he is from the North East and this club means something to him.”
  19. For every Sels you get a Dubravka. Every Joselu a Rondon. At least half our starting squad is based on that Championship winning team of 2016/17 which is 4 full seasons ago - of course it's hit or miss when you work in the bargain basement
  20. World would be boring if we all agreed tbf
  21. If anyone wants a laugh. Keith's at it again All the replies to this conversation. I found Yousef to be quite grounded in his views based on public information, the CAT website. Matches up perfectly with what I understand - and what anyone looking at those documents could conclude. Keith by comparison is based on relative fantasy in this case, "failed to get thrown out" (the made private bit the club did refer in their statement so I'll hold on that one - " It is currently attempting to prevent the competition courts considering a claim by the Club’s sellers from taking place in public, arguing that too should be held in confidential arbitration.") The highlight of the replies for me. Not a slander at Keith though, the work he's done in the background setting up the CAT case is very admirable. But now it's the court's time to carry out the process in their own time
  22. Think it was The Sun who was the "50m warchest" Mail's always said £11m, £10m around that. If loans etc are the sacrifice until a takeover I'm ok. If we sacrifice that without a takeover, god forbid what we're like in windows to come
