  1. Think everyone realises that this is probably last chance saloon for our club to be in a position financially, to compete to a level that we all would dream for. We had a snip of it for a few years under Keegan and to a lesser extent Robson, but never would we have the financial power that this takeover would bring. Failure would in my opinion totally decimate the club and a lot of the fanbase. Never again could I see the posibility of owners with such wealth be in the market to buy NUFC. I agree that we would love to see an owner with even the ambition to move the club forward (not the same as PIFs financial power), but after 14 years of a total lack of anything, would at least give us something to get behind. The big issue in my mind is that I am pretty sure that Ashley would not be willing to reduce the current asking price of the club. It's still a huge surprise that PIF are by all accounts still in agreement with the original price. The club is nowhere near being worth the alleged agreed price, when you take into account the huge amount of money it will cost to improve just about every aspect of the club. We even have an example of this within the current consortium, with the Reubens easily being able to purchase the club on their own wealth, but they don't see the possible potential as an option for overall investment. This year has been a total and utter mind fuck, the huge excitement of the massive opportunites, being countered against the possible realism of more years of Ashley's stranglehold. It really is a scenario of a person having the wealth to shop at Harrods daily compared to a person on benefits planning for a fortnightly shop at Lidl. Total chalk and cheese. The cases are now in play and going through the courts, but although an end is in sight, the hope or dread of the decisions made just continues to roll on ever slowly. This is made worse as nobody know who will have the winning evidence/arguments; and this only results in a divided fanbase arguing their personal opinions, based mainly on guesswork only.
  2. Said last week that Rafa would take the first job that he fought was a fit. He was never going to wait on the chance the takeover would go through. All the positive sound bites are coming from Ashley’s side (fair as he’s the one directly fighting the two cases) and nothing from the consortium side. Think we all know how much trust Rafa puts in anything coming from Ashley. He was never going to gamble missing out on a current job offer, on the basis a takeover could happen.
  3. Obviously it could well be total bollocks also with it being the Sun as I mentioned. If true, it’s certainly interesting and would be a pretty big change (for Ashley) in his recent stance.
  4. See the Sun (I know) article from two days ago was reporting fat cunt is making 50 million now available. If that was the case, just seems strange seeing that it was previously heavily reported he was pulling the strings even tighter with only 10 million (and any cash from player sales) available. Also out of kilter with his obvious reluctance to spend money with the takeover in the balance. He showed in January his stance even in the face of relegation being very possible. As I said it’s the Sun so may be bollocks, but if it is correct just seems a head scratcher with Ashley’s reluctance to spend and the takeover still very much in the balance. Might already been discussed somewhere, just never seen it and that’s unusual for here for it not to be picked up and posted.
  5. Just had a glance over at the mackem forum fully expecting a mass cry of agreement in the name change. However, surprisingly the majority were saying it was a stupid idea (plenty of ponteland talk and what boundaries the airport lies in though). If even the most anti anything Newcastle people are thinking it’s a joke, then that really sums this up.
  6. If a job comes up which fits there is no doubt he will take it. Yes, he would very likely love (and prefer) to come here under new rich owners, but is he prepared to wait only to lose out on other options and then be in limbo again if our takeover does not proceed?
  7. He's not even somone who has been used to come off the bench, as Bruce point blank refused to do so. If Bruce doesn't even want to consider bringing you on, then you know you have problems. This would be the most pointless signing (I know it's a contract extension) ever giving the last two years. There is not one thing to even give a point of discussion as to why he should be signed up. I would argue the person responsible for rolling the wheelie bin baths out would have a greater impact and more use.
  8. That moment when during that Master’s interview he made it plainly obvious how gutted he was that we actually stayed up. No doubt it was due to the fact that the issue of the takeover was not going away, but the fact that this person is in charge of representing the interests of ALL member clubs and is blatantly not in the case of NUFC. Edit: In actual fact he is will fully attempting to ensure that the best interests of one of his member clubs he represents are deliberately curtailed. Of course the takeover is the important end game, but I would love also if evidence submitted by Ashley’s legal team can bring down and implicate this prick. I can totally understand that financial issues should be stopped. This is certainly not an issue with the takeover, but the fact that another member club (Burnley) is allowed to be taken over by owners with a massively questionable financial operation, together with the fact that another member club is allowed to hide details of who are part of the direct owners (Crystal Palace) is a total pisstake. The real reason this is being blatantly fought against has been put across by the media against has been reported as piracy issues. The thing about this is that if the Premier League are stopping the takeover due to this reason, then why is very little being done to stop the mass amount of IPTV receivers in use across the UK. The real reason is two fold imho: 1. The so called ‘big 6’ not prepared to allow another big player to compete with the strong possibility of overtaking and threatening their financial position through champions league qualification and the hold on honours. 2. Although it’s reported relations have eased, Qatar will be concerned of a far richer country coming to the table, which will very likely threaten there control of media revenue in future years.
  9. He may well do it’s the type of attitude he’s displayed many times before with mixed success xx
  10. I know we have waited well over a year now, but think the next few weeks are going to seem like an absolute age. It’s the not knowing which legal team actually holds the case winning evidence/documentation and which holds the more favourable legal arguments, which is the worst part. Nobody knows if we are actually so close to a brilliant new period of actual Hope and progress for the club, or a final kick in the balls with further agony and the knowing feeling of endless no hope.
  11. Got to hope that Ashley’s legal team have actual evidence of blatant interference and attempts to influence by all/some/even 1 of the so called big 6
  12. As everyone might guess I’m totally 50/50. Must admit on the point you made I’ve been very surprised that all the soundings and display of confidence in the last week has come from Ashley’s side. I honestly thought there would have been reactive media from the usual sources, but they have been so far quiet. Well apart from Luke with his usual windup attempt. As you say, we may still see media open season start soon.
  13. No point in holding any weight concerning having confidence, as we’ve heard that all the way through. Just got to let the legal cases play out and just hope that in both cases Ashley’s legal side have enough evidence and documentation to get the decision or at least the upper hand to force a backtrack from the Premier League. I keep saying this, but absolutely nobody can say which way this will go with even a hint of certainty, as nobody knows what is being presented within their legal arguments. Just got to pray and hope that Ashley’s impressive line up of legal representation have all the right answers to present.
  14. Aye, when I read their forum, it definitely seems the mods have a no tolerance policy, as there always members getting either bans or warnings. The smbs ioften have meltdowns due to the bans/warnings being given as a direct result of personal abuse to our supporters who have signed up as members.
  15. They used a part crowd of a few hundred (can’t remember exactly) within the ground and then digitised it.
  16. He also told a few untruths in a chronicle podcast during that takeover bid, which meant that it was pulled within 24 hours.
  17. hasn’t he been bombed by BBC because of Shearer being selected?
  18. Mind I don’t agree there, but if you think that fair enough.
  19. Yeah think both are desperate, so may well be a goer.
  20. Think he may have to settle for a Championship club again to build his stock up. Suppose Palace might take a stab now Santo talks have falling through. Had a sneaky feeling Celtic might have also gone for him after Howe fell through,. Problem is that Tuchal demonstrated the difference between a top manager and a raw manager massively. As said earlier his early promise is well out of the window now. Palace is his only real hope for a Premier League club for the foreseeable future in all probability Unless the takeover is a no go and Bruce has us in a relegation position as Ashley maybe would take a chance on him.
  21. I give up months ago trying to interpret his tweets. I am convinced some are a hidden message, but fuck knows exactly what
  22. or certainly help pay for Will Grogg’s massive wages
  23. He’s in Narcos Mexico also. Search Diego Luna Newcastle and there’s a few images including him on the pitch.
  24. See my post above, the original actor signed up is quite a big name now.
