  1. A list of players whom were worth fuck all in transfer value. Diame was offered a one year deal but didn’t accept.
  2. Ashley is no way going to let a player walk for nothing man when he can get money. He will be away this summer with Ashley getting cash in his pocket instead of fuck all. You can paint it anyway you want, but that’s the reason he was given a new contract. Ashley would never lose an opportunity to cash in.
  3. The reason contracts have been given is to have the option of actually being able to make money from any sales instead of walking away for nothing. The valve of the three you mention is probably at the 15 million mark in sales. Ashley is noway going to let players go for nothing when he can get decent money.
  4. Seems like the rumour mills are ramping up again to last year’s levels. Luckily I’ve learned the hard way just to not get sucked in anymore. Still surprised there hasn’t been anything really with the usual anti journalists brigade coming out with their negative exclusives so far, especially with the legal action ramping up (apart from Luke last week l).
  5. no surprise either, horrible snidey little cunt that he is
  6. not a big fan of him either, unfortunately I could say the same for quite a few of the squad. It’s what we are though with Ashley
  7. Have to say I’m still not convinced. No brainier to give him a contract as would have been crazy seeing him walk for nothing. Rafa obviously saw potential to buy him (unless he was another 5th or 6th choice on the famous list), but was quick to see him loaned out after.working with him the first season. He certainly does some good things, some of his crosses have been top notch and couple of good goals. He’s 26 and I’ve just not seen any level of consistency over a prolonged period. Few glimpses here and there. With the new contract and if the takeover (and pointless theorising as we know most of the team would be upgraded within a year or two) does not get the green light, then with the alleged possible low transfer budget, it’s probably worth seeing for next year if he can develop to give a level of performance over a more consistent period. No takeover and he will be playing at the start of the season. If the progress is still not being displayed, then he can be moved on for a fee. By then though, if no takeover, I won’t really be paying much interest anymore.
  8. you cannot communicate/facilitate/scheme with outside parties not involved in a confidential and NDA takeover application. That is totally against competition law before any rules are even considered. Ashley’s legal team are alleged to have the supporting evidence that the involvement of outside parties is clear, As such, if this evidence is available and implicates the involvement of these outside parties, then it certainly does 100% justify this CAT case.
  9. Was it not the Premier League were stating that the issue was already being dealt with within the arbitration case?
  10. that Ashley’s legal team do actually have incriminating evidence of enough substance for a judge to allow the case to proceed. IF it is true on the other forum, then that is pretty significant.
  11. aye he looked impressive as he did when I watched a Chelsea game towards the back end of the season. What I found funny was that Lee Dixon was slaughtering him for the first 15 minutes of the game. Mind never liked Dixon since the Ginola carry on in the league cup match down there.
  12. Pretty sure that in a lot of legal cases in general that deals are agreed to avoid court action. So I think that would be a yes.
  13. This decision could be massive, and in my opinion the first genuine indicator of whether the NUFC (Ashley) and the legal team actually have solid and incriminating evidence in their actual case. It’s still not certain even then that the case would still be won, but if the Premier League request for the case to be basically thrown out is rejected, then it is least a positive sign that the judge making the decision thinks there is enough evidence/argument for a court /legal panel (do not know where the case goes) to consider and make a judgement. If the Premier League succeed, then there will obviously be a massive meltdown incoming, but the questions will then be directed (and rightly so) about the strength of the evidence gathered and presented by Ashley’s team. I know the arbitration is separate, so again nobody can be sure of what’s being presented. I’m just hoping that the decision this week gives support that the Ashley legal team does have the necessary evidence to move the case forward and create more pressure.
  14. it is brilliant, only moan I would have is the lack of players from the 50s and earlier. I might have missed him (as couldn’t pick him out when I looked - be better seeing a much larger print mind), but couldn’t see Len White who scored 153 goals for the club and my mother who went to all the games and got my brother and I season tickets with her as soon as we were the right age to go (my dad was in the merchant navy and away 10 months of the year as most fans would be introduced by their father) said that he was outstanding. Also would argue a few are not really worthy of being included (just me being fussy probably). Fabulous effort though especially recreating the memorable moments associated with a few players.
  15. I think this may well be happening as from looking like an imminent announcement it’s gone very quiet. We know Ashley doesn’t give a fuck what we think, but most other clubs are very much in mind of the opinion of their support especially when this is very vocally displayed. No better example of this than the English ‘Super League’ outcry. When the vast majority of your fans are against the appointment of the person who is in charge of the team, it’s very hard to ignore. Doesn’t matter that our fans think he’s a good choice. Everton fans simply don’t want him and that has to be making the Everton board having probable second thoughts. Edit: Could be the sudden silence is that they are just working on the overall package (we know Rafa will certainly be ensuring his requirements and plans for the club are agreed and probably documented in any contract)) which could take a few days. I’m just going off that it is usual nowadays for when the media are reporting that it’s close, that it’s usually the case it’s then announced within the next couple of days (often the same day). The fact the odds have went out (he was 1/12 two days ago), the media have went rather quiet and that the vast majority of Everton fans are so against this; makes me think it’s far from certain. Soon find out mind.
  16. I used to watch, but find it now an absolute fuckfest. I sometimes watch the Gibbo/Supermac part as that is really only focussed on the team. Both have decent stories from days gone by also. The one positive is that there is a decent amount of cash raised for the food bank, which is genuinely a great thing. The podcasts themselves especially the now ‘Fab 4’ I just find unwatchable.
  17. It’s probably Bruce going through each club’s menu to see which ones offer the cheapest bacon sarnies
  18. isn’t the Premier League’s request to basically dismiss the CAT case (due to it being already covered in the arbitration - their argument), still being deliberated by the judge? Think someone (with legal knowledge) on here thought it may take up to two weeks. Tomorrow is one week since they presented their evidence/arguments/whatever, so maybe back end of next week or the beginning of the following week for the decision to be made. I apologise if this is wrong (if so can someone put me right) as have not been really looking at takeover related posts or media info the last week or so. Trying to just let the legal cases play out and not to get too emotionally involved if possible or searching for leads (as I don’t trust what’s coming out from both sides of the argument). Last year between the takeover first being released until the PIF ‘pulling out’ statement, I like many spent literally hours each day reading and listening to anything takeover related. This led to me switching from being on a total high to a total low, sometimes within a matter of minutes depending on what was coming out. Never again. I (we) have no say or control on what will happen, so honestly think it’s just best to await the legal cases to play out, or if an agreement is made before the cases conclude, for an actual official announcement to be made.
  19. worst ground in the premiership especially for away fans. They have been needing a new ground for years. Always thought it funny that their fans do not like like us for no real reason. Bit like Villa fans in that regard.
  20. normally I would say no brainier as you would get money coming in and as you say probably save wages. Also think most would agree that Willems would have been ahead of Ritchie when he was here. However, the fact that he has not played any games (I don’t think he has anyway or certainly very very few) since the injury has me thinking it’s just too much of a risk signing, unless it was a structured deal with an initial 1 year attached. The fact he would obviously be looking for a longer deal, means in my opinion anyway I would not take the risk.
  21. yeah that is annoying especially when you see it’s just the exact same crack which has been argued over and over this last year
  22. he’s the one person for me who even ranks at a lower mark that Edwards and that is saying something.
