Has anyone made the 'Shola has already sorted out a loan move to Partick Thistle for him' joke yet?

    Football podcasts

Apologies if this has been covered already in the thread but what's the consensus on the best Toon podcast? I've got a long drive coming up and I need to lock n load the playlist. I want a podcast that's just 3/4 guys shooting the shit about the footy like a bunch of pals down the pub, a bit of tactical insight wouldn't hurt as long as they don't go full spreadsheet shagger/pie chart nonce. Of course, the patter has to be great, no pishy middle class dad banter like Taylor Payne and George Caulkin On that note, don't recommend me Pod on the Tyne, I just can't do it lads, I just can't. Ideally they release episodes fairly regularly, 2-3 times a week. Thanks in advance.
  3. Ah, so the True Geordie has stopped talking about cartel teams in a roadman accent and is back to posting rants after a derby defeat? It feels like 2013 again!
  4. I think pretty much everyone on here said that the best case scenario for all parties would be for him to give us one more season on a new deal circa 200k a week and at the end of the season go to Barça or Bayern on even more money than he's getting at Liverpool and live out his days racking up goals against the tin pot dross they play nearly every other week, riding off into the sunset as a bonafide Newcastle legend. Such a shame.
  5. They still haven't spent all the Coutinho money, thankfully they kept some of it squirreled away for a rainy day, some clubs have ceilings remember!

Nah, you're right, I've given it some thought and it's actually a horrendous idea. My sincere apologies
  7. To be fair, our ownership model is less about PIF and more about the day to day custodians who are delegated to run the club. Yasir is chairman of the most ambitious sovereign wealth fund in the world, he has his fingers in so many pies that I imagine his involvement with Newcastle goes as far as being briefed on our progress periodically and signing off on spending as and when. Hopkinson is the one charged with being the boots on the ground for PIF, if this summer window goes to shit and there's not progress on training ground, sponsors, new stadium etc he should be held chiefly responsible
  8. Yeah true. I wonder if all this was made clear to them before they got involved, if it was then their statements about being #1 or one of the best clubs in the world by 2030 were naïve at best and braindead at worst
  9. There can't have been many players who moved from Fenerbache straight to Galatasaray or vice versa. The Turkish Jack Colback
  10. More clubs than my nans biscuit tin
  11. It wouldn't surprise me, the Saudi/PIF MO is to throw ungodly amounts of money at a project to take a shortcut to the top. You have to be a lot smarter and strategic than that to succeed in the PL and crucially, patient.

Spurs going down would be the funniest footballing event of my lifetime. For that match and that match only, I'm OK with Sunderland winning. For the greater good.

If we finish above them after they've done the double over us, the NETD parade through Newcastle will feel very hollow indeed. In fact, I'd probably just skip it, just like I did last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year.......
  14. Out of all of our problems this season, Gordon is very close to the bottom. Perhaps his cringey pseudo-intellectual, high performance podcastesque media pieces rub people up the wrong way and are weaponised against him when he drops a stinker.
  15. This is where I'm at right now, I've said that I think Eddie has taken us as far as he can but when taking into consideration what we'd need to go beyond that, I think that's as good as anyone can expect. Yes, this season has been a clusterfuck and there are other attainable managers out there who would likely have us higher up the table this season alone, but zooming out over the whole piece I think Eddie is about as good as we can get right now. He was let down by the clubs hierarchy this summer which led to the disastrous window and injuries haven't helped of course but going forward he needs to find way to be more flexible and adapt to certain situations. The squad is a stale mess and a lot of work needs to be done next summer. IMO he gets the summer and we'll see how we start next season before his seat starts heating up.

"I was passing through the east end of Glasgow after the match on Sunday and came across about 50 Celtic and Rangers fans having a scrap, one of them screamed 'look a mackem!' and just like that, the violence stopped, they laid down their arms and each came up to congratulate me one by one, the last one to approach me was a boy no older than 6 who said 'thank you for everything your team has done, Sunderland didn't just win today, it was a victory for all of humanity' I told him 'FTM marra, 6 in a row, 11 unbeyten in the leygue'. That child grew up to be William Wallace. As I walked off they formed a guard of honour and I walked into the Glasgow mist with the sound of thunderous applause ringing in my ears."

See if Liverpool would take Elanga, Wissa, Woltemade, Osula, Pope, Willock, Krafth, Targett and Ruddy in exchange for Isak and pretend last summer never happened

    Roflham Lolspurs

West Ham are fucking useless and unfortunately I think that'll be Spurs' saving grace. I can see Spurs spawning a win or two in the run in, I think West Ham will huff and puff to a few draw and a win at best

    Sven Botman

Ah right, fair enough, to my mk.1 eyeball it looked like he was struggling really badly against Brobbey. Admittedly the tussle they had early on which was eventually called as a foul probably played on my mind. The most shocking part of those statistics is that Wissa actually won a duel, who the fuck was he up against?!
