This is the correct answer. I can't bring myself to say that I want him gone but I also acknowledge that we can't go on like this. We all love Eddie and we're all grateful for the journey we've been on with him but that doesn't grant him immunity from being under pressure or being relieved of his duties if push comes to shove. I understand that there are mitigating circumstances to explain the malaise this season and I think he's been seriously undermined and let down by the clubs hierarchy but in reality I think he's taken us as far as he possibly can. He deserves to start next season IMO and we'll take it from there, but other talented managers are out there and the club should have the systems and processes in place to make sure we identify his successor well

Any manager who values his career, reputation and sanity would avoid that club like the plague this season. I know managers will back themselves to sort out the mess and be the hero but that club seems completely rotten to the core

6 Newcastle players in one England squad! Check us out! You're still thinking about the bad news aren't you?

Strip away the fact that it's derby and all the emotions that go with it and yesterday was a movie we've seen way too many times this season. Opponents coming to SJP know that we're going to come at them like a pack of hyenas from kick off but if they can weather the storm for the first 30 mins or so, we won't be able to sustain it and gaps will start appearing all over the pitch, then in the 2nd half we seldom have game changing quality coming off the bench to give us the impetus again. Teams know that they just need to stay within touching distance of us by half time and we'll inevitably create chances for them. We're ridiculously easy to play against.

He got thrown about like a wet tracksuit by Brobbey yesterday, I wouldn't be at all fussed if we sold him, he's a far cry from his 22/23 self
-
I don't know if it's just a case of me being a biased gravy stained jawdee but I think the 2nd half was more a case of us shiteing the nest and parting like the red sea for them than them running rings around us. We shrunk into a quivering mess and they smelt blood. But I'm not taking anything away from them, they done their job well and fully deserved the win

OK, what I'm basically saying is sign very good players for very little money. We only want purples, no flops. Get me on the recruitment team!
-
I'm going to sound like a broken record but we should be getting the likes of Thiago BEFORE he goes to.the likes of Brentford
-
I agree, Vlach, Ramsdale and Pope are much of a muchness, they're fine to a certain extent as a backup so why not just roll with the one we already spent 20m on as opposed to spending 20m on Ramsdale who is only marginally better at best

Context is important when you hear people praise Elanga, myself included. When we say things like "he's starting to look a lot better" "had a decent game today" etc remember that it's all relative to what we've seen from him. Elanga having a good game means he doesn't look like a competition winner whose never touched a ball before
-
I'm with you on that, I didn't interpret it as a dig. He just forgot to mention the part about the crowd being shaky because we know from past experience that this team is incapable of holding onto a lead
-
Not for sale: Bruno, Hall, Miley Would love to keep but they're probably leaving: Tino, Tonali Only sell for silly money: Thiaw, Gordon, Ramsey Sell for a reasonable fee: Botman, Woltemade, Osula, Barnes No one will offer anything decent, so might as well keep as backups: Joelinton, Murphy, Burn, Pope, Schär Get to fuck: Ramsdale, Targett, Willock, Elanga Wissa: Wissa Nae pressure Ross Wilson, don't fuck it up
-
So fans who have watched their team concede later equalisers and winners all season get nervous when we we sit back in the 2nd half and start playing like shit as if they know what's going happen next?!
-
Aye I know City are financially doped cheats and Pep is a gimp but they are by far the least offensive of the cartel. I'm quite happy for them to sweep up everything just to cockblock the red mafia

Outstanding work from Wor Flags today, such shame it'll be associated with such an abomination of a game -

Probably the most tone deaf post I've read since Nile Ranger slagged off our fans for booing the team after losing to Reading. Calling out fans for being emotional after bottling a derby isn't going to go down well
-
100%, great post. We've seen this movie numerous times already, especiallyt SJP, the game today was a microcosm of this miserable season
-
An incredibly stupid player, get him to fuck, sick of him

Our record against them is absurd, there can't be many other rivalries in the world which are so one sided, taking into account that we're talking about about 15 years spanning various managers and squads and for most of the time that we've been in the same league as each other they've been circling the toilet bowl. The squad and players for both sides are completely unrecognisable from 2013 but the attitude and application from both sides today looked every inch an Alan Pardew 6 in a row era derby performance
-
Yeah I agree, as much as I don't want to hear generic soundbites from those gutless clowns there's plenty of Newcastle fans who'll be expecting an explanation and the players have just spat in those fans faces by not fronting up
-
To be honest, the last thing I want to hear right now is one of our players talk about "how we're hurting in the dressing room" and "we can only put this right by winning the next one" but to duck the interview is shitebaggery of the highest order and disrespectful to the fans.

Yep. We're only good if we're up against a team that underestimates us. This is what happens when you assemble a team of athletes whose identity is intensity but have no idea what to do if the opposition are also physically imposing
