Everyone except one person was hyping him up for the Euros. His one appearance, although short was positive. Then something happened behind the scenes that seemed to push him out of the spotlight. Did he really say too much in the interview, did he get injured falling off the bike, did he just realise that he was never going to get is chance. Add to that he come back late from preseason compared to last summer when he was fighting fit. Give him time and he will be back to his best.. but I also do think he is a confidence player and the summer has hurt him

Never watched him this closely... Is he having a bad day or maybe the Palace fans would suggest his head has been turned?
-
He's good but he's no Maldini...

The lad has had no preseason after the Southgate fiasco

Has there ever been any indication that he wasn't happy here ?

Players that were actually decent for us that are totally forgotten

Scott Sellers... Outstanding crosser of the ball but guess the way the club stream rolled under Keegan he was quickly forgotten about once Ginola arrived. The Liverpool / cole game was a joy to watch.. yes the keeper was dodgy but the build up from Sellers was simply superb. -

Well he was signed under Ossie so as much as he looked good the team made up of kids were losing. By the time he come back from a bad injury Keegan had already started to bring his own players in. Shame as he was fast and direct but don't think he has the crossing ability of say Sellers, Sheedy or future wingers we would bring in -
The worst Newcastle player you've seen in a match

Gavin Peacock Without him and his goals I don't think we would have stayed up in Keegans first year or had the promotion year we did. Obviously Kelly and then Cole took the end of season headlines but he was a favourite of mine as a kid. -

79 in total including 15 in Europe. Honestly for all his critics he is exactly the type of 3rd choice striker we need right now. -
I'm not going to disagree that it matches my own wishlist but maybe in reality we are looking to sell a miggy, Wilson or trippier before we buy a replacement in their position. If we went out and bought their replacements now and didn't manage to sell them.. it increases the chances of selling Bruno, Gordon to clear FFP challenge next year.

52 million to the saudi league

Villa have Champions League but have had to sell some big players and youngsters to get wiggle room... Can you imagine the forum if we sold the likes of Diaz or Diaby (Bruno/Gordon). Man U always spend big... Mostly on the wrong players but they have such vast turnover compared to us. I'm more frustrated about our commerical deals / turnover not moving quicker because the fact we had to sell players shows that we will spend the money when we physically can.

Because when the other option is someone who can't cross or assist.. then Murphy's positive contributions make him appear more valuable than he ever should be. However as a backup to an improved rw signing.. I would be more than happy to keep him as a sub / reserve

The poor lad has to come back to the class and pretend he had a good school holiday... Where did you go? Germany. What did you do? Told Gareth his tactics were crap. Wow how did that go?.............. -
I am more confident Luke has had his say... let's go!

It's more the drop off from the Purple patch to the norm... I know confidence is a massive thing in football and he must have felt amazing during that period but surely he must know the only way for that to continue was to repeat the process. I can't remember him cutting in from 30 yards out and shooting last season.. more running as far as he could then passing back. Maybe his injury was part of the mental process and he was scared to fully use his pace. -

So we could look to save a Bobb or two in the long run...

Can we not just have another thread for Chelsea's transfers... On a positive note they may run out players to buy before they run out of ways to get around the system. Christ maybe that is their goal buy everyone and just leave us with Miggy

Ironically the football soccerdome on the otherside was bought and run down by Mike Ashley. Bigger space but I can't imagine he would sell it to Newcastle lol

So does that now mean Rosenberg are now world champions after beating you 1.0 last week?
