I'm getting Graham Taylor vibes... The fans, the players, the tactics, the press turning on the manager -

So glad they are being honest and calling it out for what it is. And I think it's because ex pros know we are better than this and it's tactical not the players -

I don't mind hating Southgate when we are winning... But it's bloody hell when we are not 🤯 -
Am I jealous of how easy Chelsea seem to find ways to buy players ... Yes. But that's balanced with the fact there seems to be no plan in place about who they buy, just they can buy. A bit like me playing Monopoly where I just buy the first things I land on because I've no idea what the hell I'm doing but I know it pisses everyone else off.

We could have an out going deal lined up but want to get incomings agreed first before other clubs try and fleece us...

Everything wrong with FFP ... Newly qualified champions League team have to sell one first team player and an up and coming prospect and replace with a free transfer

Still amazes me why clubs spend thousands on accountants when some bloke online can rustle up a spreadsheet with all the secret details about contracts and outgoings. Nevermind knowing all the dodgy fixes and tax fiddles proper accountants can pull out the bag. We will be ok -

Just pass the ball to Kane at least once a half! I mean we have a player who is known for his crosses and we are asking him to pass two yards. Or two of the worlds top number 10s and not one through ball to him either. I do miss 442 and players who crossed the ball ... I know I'm a ⚽🦖 -
We are not some tin pot club where literally nobody wants to sign for us... If we don't get this player another one will come. Nobody on here was claiming we should go out any buy Bruno, Isak, Gordon or either of the young full backs before it happened... But plenty thought it was the end of the world when we didn't sign Lingard, Ekitika, Maddison or Carlos. If Tosin wanted more money or another player prefers London / warmer weather then that's ok... Sometimes them choosing us for the right reason is better than the wrong (Owen!)

Ah so we have reached this point of the transfer window... When everyone begins to fight over rumours of rumours as there is no actual rumours for us to fight over.

Has anyone spent any money yet? West Ham yesterday?

Think some clubs know their place and just want to be comfortable mid table. The Charlton of the 90s... Bobbing along midtable, went for it in one season, failed and never come back. -

Well I do remember Keegan playing a defender in CM against Germany.... Keegan's team selection for Germany indicated that this realisation had dawned on him. Gareth Southgate, at the time a centre back for Aston Villa, was employed as a holding midfielder just in front of the experienced duo of Martin Keown and Tony Adams. His selection ahead of the likes of Dennis Wise and Paul Ince, two veterans in the position, represented a substantial risk - but at least it was one Keegan was willing to take. Southgate, in Keegan's mind, was to be the insurance policy in midfield that protected England against Germany's incisive counter-thrusts. But Southgate had played in the role before in the early phases of his career, notably at Crystal Palace, to no great success - indeed, he was only seriously considered as an international player when employed in the backline. -
Thinks it's the old bid low. unsettle the player that he is missing out on his dream move. and then meet in the middle which will still save them 15 million on fulhams asking price.
-
I think he will be similar to Lee Clark, Aaron Hughes... Go onto have a decent career at another club. Another 100+ games whereas if he stays here is will gradually move down the pecking order as we begin our upward spiral
