  1. I don't want an 'easy' draw and f'ck it up... I want the hardest group and if we go out, we go out in a blaze of glory!!
  2. I was thinking maybe it's unfair on him based on limited English players coming through... But then remembered we have just won the u21s! I mean surely we should be filling gaps with them and not Maguire, Hendon, Philips etc.
  3. Good to see he has managed to squeeze another Crystal Palace player into the squad...can't wait to see who they get in the Champions League draw!
  4. I think it would be also possible to inflate the figure even further.. I mean how much did Liverpool sell Coutinhio for ? And the market has only went north since then.
  5. I don't think he will ever be at the level of a Torres, Suarez or a Salah but I think he is one of many good options for Liverpool. I was actually more worried about Jota coming on with his trickery and touch but it worked out the other way.
  6. I would have loved ESR but unless he can switch to the right I think we are overloaded on the left. As a 10.. I think Arteta might have set the benchmark a tad high! If he even got half of that I would be happy
  7. Point 2.. I fully agree and we picked it up from where we were sitting. The frustrating thing was we did the same move every time.. passed along the back until it got to Burn and then the gap was closed off. Even if it was to fail, a longer pass from Botman or Schar to Gordon would have put a little bit of doubt into Salahs head. Even if Burn could use his right foot or open his body up to hit the ball down the line quicker
  8. This guy sums up my thoughts on Miggy...
  9. Yep we were ten minutes from a forum full of positives and the team being praised for a professional performance. However much like the Brighton.vWest Ham game... Goals win games no matter how many passes or chances you create. And to give him his praise... I don't think any other striker on the pitch would have scored those goals. Sometimes football just punishes you
  10. Wish he believed in himself to try it again... It would put doubt in the defenders heads if they knew he would at least try it
  11. Good wake up call to him and a few others... We were very good last year but it came with hard work. We can't go into the big games at 99% as we will be punished. Will come good
  12. I admit I'm not his biggest fan but I still want him to do well, learn and play to his strengths... But there was one moment today which summed him up in my eyes. Edge of the box, one on one with Van Dyke and drives inside onto his right... Only to realise he had to cut back on to his left. Surely this must be discussed in training as even learning to swing his right foot at the ball should at least set up a chance??
  13. After so many years ... Why am I still so bad at losing!
  14. Paul Dalglish... Surely even his dad was embarrassed to play him just a year after taking over from Keegan
  15. Except (correction lol)it was anything but opportunistic? We bid for him in the summer and went above our initial bid in the winter. Unless they are telling fibs in the documentary?
  16. I reckon we have a target for every position and look to progress with each one as and when the opportunity arises. We could have got any RW, that's the easy part but if the one you want is not available the summer or the costs quoted go North what do you do? Buy someone for one year as a stop gap? Confident the whole team will evolve in time including the positions we missed out this summer
  17. Why not sell him straight to Chelsea and miss the middle man out!
  18. Honestly the haters are going to hate... But Gordon was Eddies prime target. i trust the manager and scouts opinion over my own and I'm sure he will prove the doubters wrong as the season progresses
  19. Different times and different players... But everyone told Keegan he needed to be stronger in defence and brought in Batty. I loved him as a player but I do wonder if buying a stronger CB then peacock and leaving the midfield as is, would have been the better option? Much as dropping in a fixed CDM now might limit us in other aspects of our gameplay.
  20. Was it Park who Fergie used to play for only the big games and when he wanted a player marked out of the game?
  21. I'm expecting some new contracts to be agreed post window to give us some extra wiggle room on FFP..
  22. Unpopular opinion but Bruno has been a little less magic then in his opening spell. But we are rating this against the very high standards he was performing at. With regards to the 360 post we also had our player of the year in the pic who had one of his very rare poor games for us. It's clickbate and too be honest no one would have cared if it wasn't for Bruno replying. Expecting a Bruno winner and an Ayoze celebration to follow ... Or a red card as he is still angry!
  23. When Ossie brought all the young lads through.. i say brought, we were bloody skint lol Clark, Watson x 2, Elliot, Thompson, Howey etc
  24. We might not have the same success on the field this year but my God we are going in the right direction off the field..
