Neither player would have started games at the end of last season

Might be better to agree the contract now before we start paying bigger wages in the future ?
-
A different level maybe but the sale of Woods and Shelvey last winter was overlooked because a, the fans didn't like them and b, we got ridiculous fees for them. those sales allowed us to buy Gordan/ balance the books ahead of the summer. So I understand if we end up flipping a couple of our higher rated players this year even more so if it's a deal that will allow us more flex if a long term player becomes available.

Obviously it's because Hope is Bruce's long lost son... And he only popped around his mother's house for the Bacon!
-
What's the deal with having to pay tax if you leave within two years? I guess only keeping half of your fortune must be a gutter for you
-
I do wonder if Ashworths success at Brighton was due to them being a plucky underdog and flying under the radar. Our squad could really do with some lower prices gambles but does our perceived riches make that harder to negotiate bargains. Even another of own Perez or Schar would be great right now...

I think the limit should also be reviewed each year based on the most recent window. Chelsea, Arsenal and City spending £100 million plus on a single player massively inflated the transfer window. As much as I dislike them, even Liverpool were priced out of bidding war with Chelsea for Caicedo because of the fee arsenal paid for Rice. And to be fair he never looked a 100 million player before or after they signed him

What it needs is a well run club with rich owners and deep pockets to start buying players... Then who knows the club who sold the player would either be able to balance their books or be able to spend money and buy a replacement. Radical idea but we could even call it a transfer window and everyone could join in.

Financial Fair Play / Profit & Sustainability

if it is 10 points and only allowed to be fined once... Let's go spend 300 million and take the hit. But you are right they make it up after the event and we would be relegated no matter what. -

I'm not sure Everton have a leg to stand on there... You can lose 135 million over three years but if that all falls in one year, you will have to carry that loss for the next two years reports as well. You can't just sweep it under the carpet and pretend it's not there after you have been fined once. -
Wasn't that Nachos debut.. No wonder Keegan got pissed off

I know it sounds daft but the penny has just dropped with your explanation! If anybody bought any other business and had the funds to grow their company there would be no legal rule to stop them?? Yet our owners are unable to invest their money, which even at the going rate, would drop funds into other clubs and gradually feed money down the leagues (minus agent fees !) -
Newcastle United 2-3 Manchester City (13/01/23)

I would agree if only those fresh legs could replace players in the positions we were tired. Full backs, CB, 2 GKs and kid to bring on. Hall was really the only viable option left. Now we can argue the squad depth / ffp is at fault for that but we have lost to the likes of PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City in the closing minutes because of two key factors. Mental and physical fatigue of our 13 players and the ability for those teams above to bring on international quality attacking players to give it one last push. Otherwise I can't see how team tactics work for 90 minutes and we then forget all that in injury time. -

Are we just going to ignore the fact that whilst the 3 CMS might be fluid, none of them have the natural speed and agility to play the game some of you are suggesting. Then add the fact they are running on empty, the out balls are limited because the winners are also goosed then I think it's harsh to ultra critical that they are not performing at their peak at the moment. -
To be fair both teams must be desperate to stock pile even more CMs in their squad. I'm sure we will even sell him at half the market price as well
-
Im sure I remember reading that current sponsors or shirt suppliers could sue for loss of earnings similar to any subsequent sales / profits made. Which was the reason we couldn't switch from castore last year.
-
Depends which four end up in champions league.. Chelsea don't get in for the second season or even the next one then their crazy buying will catch up with them. Liverpool got the benefit of the Saudi league this year.. but that door might already be closing with players looking for escape routes. Spurs need to generate sales to progress
-
I always thought they played in red shirts when we played... But guess they were the home team today so we had to change
-
This is always the problem with the first big players through the door.. they either have to be patient for others to follow or become part of the solution to allow us to progress in FFP. I'm hoping he can hold out but maybe the taste of champions league makes him even more frustrated

I'm just confused with everything.. I miss old school football -
It almost like we made no champions league money, increased merchandise sales or a new strip and multiple sponsorship deals in the pipeline ... Yep we need to sell now!
-
There was a moment he froze on the ball yesterday.. you could see him thinking what to do and by then two players had closed him down.
-
I also think Burn has got it into his head that he needs to attack and overlap to mirror what Tino can do. I would much prefer he just stayed steady and focused on his own strengths as the above results in him being no good at either.
