I think we were edging our bets across multiple players and Isak this year but just look at Eze. Spurs thought they had it to themselves and then Arsenal snapped him up in a day. It's very rare for a footballer to stay at one club for a significant length of time. Especially if that player has no ties or loyalty to a club. If salary is the only influencing factor then you are buying loyalty and it will only last until the player feels his loyalty is undervalued.
