  1. I love these extreme views Why can’t fans want 1 x £50m player and a loan …and maybe a freebie ? I don’t think anyone is expecting or demanding 4 x £50m players (apart from the fake Twitter makem accounts pretending to be newcastle fans) Most of us just want a half decent winger and forward (not really arsed about the price to be fair)
  2. I know we are hamstrung by FFP at the minute but the last thing Saudis worry about is money So if there is a way of getting money into the club they will (when they can) blowing £80m on numerous players in the future will not be an issue They have billions upon billions !! Might just take longer than we hoped / thought Look at the money they have thrown at the golf , it’s beyond ridiculous
  3. Pope £10m Targett £15m Botman £30m Not exactly crazy money Some of the other signings (by other teams) haven’t exactly been crazy money maybe we should of pushed harder for free transfers , and paid higher wages Cornet has a release clause if we are struggling Eriksen on a free, Zichenko £32m, Watford’s Dennis ? , Kalimuendo £20m ??
  4. The Newcastle Women are having to play in training gear , as Castore haven’t got their kits ready yet ! First two pre season games so far have been played in old training kit shambles
  5. I am pretty relaxed to be fair , I just think they would of known how difficult it was going to be from the outset it will be like this every window tbf i still have 100% faith and will back the owners to the hilt It’s always nice to get a little concerned , ? Ps - I just believe there has to be a time to go that extra mile …which they will do In the future …i have no doubt They have done a whole host of fantastic things so far for the club on and off the field
  6. Dirk Kuyt up to much ? Can play on the wing and up front ?
  7. One thing that boils my piss (a little bit) is when I hear journalists say Newcastle will only do a deal that suits them and won’t go above their valuation of a target The problem with that is ….. There are always a few teams willing to pay just that little bit more to secure a deal if it’s the player they really want So if we don’t pay it , someone else will Also - if we have a list of targets and we don’t get the player we want (and we need to go down our list) ….are we not then going to have to replace/sell these players at some point (when we decide to go after bigger targets down the line) ?? Who will buy them if they are on decent wages? Haven’t quite done it for us ? Also …do we not contact players / agents months in advance….so we should pretty much know straight away if the transfer fee or wages will be an issue? Yes we have a 5 year plan ? Maybe 4 years now??…..but the top 5 or 6 clubs have potentially improved (moved ahead) of us now in terms of player quality….. and they will always have the finances and wage structure to compete for the top players despite our wealth I don’t think over spending on a few top targets will show weakness , it just shows a desire to push for Europe , a willingness to show ambition I am not talking about stupid crazy spending , I am talking about doing that little bit extra to nab our top targets on our list? As what is the point in having all these high priority targets and seeing them sign for other teams ? There always has to be a middle ground , and pushing the boat out on maybe 2 players may reap the rewards of European football ?? Which in turn can generate more tv money / more commercial money / a higher standard of player interest? /etc We don’t have to spend every window if we get the higher standard of players that we have at the top of our list ??
  8. He fits the bill agent in town private jet arrived from salzburg could be one to watch
  9. Some Salzburg journalist saying 30m Euro bid rejected (first bid) who knows if we have bid more and then they have flew over ?
  10. I always have my preferences on who I would love us to sign Paquetta , Diaby , etc However most of the time I am happy to see anyone come in and then back them …and judge them on performances I have always been like this …I can remember being 11 years old ….we had just signed Darren Bradshaw and I was running around my kitchen pretending to be him scoring on his debut ! He didn’t , he was a defender / midfielder (and very average) but I was still excited to see him and see if he improved us I still get like that now , Even if he has been shit for other clubs ………I think maybe he needs to play at st James park with a club that really wants him ! Obviously down the years I have been severely disappointed But the feeling is still there every time we sign somebody New !! I still get the buzz when we bid for someone and it all kicks off ! I hope we get a couple more in …in this window and whoever they are I will be 100% behind them
  11. If we really wanted him I think the answer to the fan , would also be no No chance he says anything other than no definitely won’t say …..yes / or I hope so / we might / you never know / fingers crossed / etc
  12. PIF targeting top 10 ?this season (no chance) We could of finished 9th /10th last season They will want European football asap They will want 7th this season Yes we will have more sponsors next season but those money could be even higher if we manage to get into that bottom European place if not , we are in the same position trying to attract top players without European football
  13. Football doesn’t work like that He could very easily get injured in the first minute of the first match , no matter how fit or how rested up he is If the body / muscle / tendon/ goes it goes You can do your best to prepare but the game takes its out on the body / legs as you get older Willson will pick up knocks / strains / injuries as normal As will most players We need strength in depth upfront for him to be able to put a good long run of being fit , he might need to be rested in a few of the (so called easier games) and maybe have a few extra days off Even then , it’s all about how each game pans out and how his body holds up He’s had two massive injuries at Bournemouth that kept him out for multiple months at a time Plus that hefty calf injury last season Yes he has decided to move up to the north east but I would be very surprised if he manages 15-16 games in a row !
  14. On a plus note , our closing down and work rate is very good (even better when we have a full crowd) to spur us on
