Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
DMLeazesender replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
That's what he said about us after taking over...except then all his family were NUFC fans. -
I'll just let Eddie decide, he seems to know what he is doing

Deffo red card with the benefit of replay, although hard to spot at first. The team responded brilliantly to a difficult 10 man formation and the sending off seemed to to give the Bees a buzz, especially with Toney and Erickson in wait to come on. They played better with 10 than 11. But we were professional, did what we had to do and got the 3 points (without trying too hard!) TBF I think we would have won 11 against 11. Finally got a team we can be proud of.

I promise I did not - I simply wrote a post about football which included some language/terminology from a comedy programme which is still available on BBC and which itself is one of the most politically correct and wokest of organisations. If people are offended they should write to BBC and complain - personally I couldn't give a fuck.

“Johnny Foreigner” is a term of endearment used by Rowan Atkinson in many comedic guises, including Blackadder. Of course Rowan Atkinson also played “Johnny English”, which I guess also sounds xenophobic to you. Apologies if I have offended you and you find my terminology insensitive. You have made me think maybe Rowan Atkinson should be cancelled because he also done lots of socially unacceptable things playing Mr Bean. I’m pleased I have woke up to the subversive messages portrayed by Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder, Johnny English and Mr Bean. I shall pen a strong letter to the BBC. However, getting back to football matters, if you have any comments or opinions on those aspects of my original post, which follows the threads discussion about NUFC’s Executive Appointments, I will be more than happy to have a non judgemental grown up exchange.
-
I'm no expert on these types of role but from what I have seen and read he looks like a brilliant appointment and far more preferable to some of the Johnny Foreigner types previously touted. His role with England shows he is respected and knowledgeable and will provide world wide connections, as will his England connections. Again, given the short time since the takeover and the complete chaotic situation that was inherited, I think the new owners are getting it spot on with the calibre of players and personnel being brought in.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
DMLeazesender replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Due to Wilsons injury he was brought in as an emergency striker during what was a manic and chaotic transfer window. We were desperate at the time. I'm convinced Eddie Howe and the owners made the right call - he will do a job for us this season until Wilson is back. I doubt either will be first choice next season. -
Yes, it is always a possibility we get drawn against them in one of the cups

West Ham United 1 - 1 Newcastle United (19/02/2022)
DMLeazesender replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Spot on, couldn't agree more. The future has never looked so good. -
As a Toon fan this is turning into the best season ever . It's strange but watching them lose each week to shit teams and imploding in league 1 and the subsequent meltdown gives me as much pleasure as when we actually beat them ourselves. Fuck the derbies, this is much more fun

Fuck me, the conspiracy theories get more and more outrageous

I can't imagine which bigger club would want him unless he went abroad. I agree the Bruce comparison was a bit OTT but then again all Rodgers won in England is an FA cup and playoff final. I'm no expert but I think Bruce won promotion on more than one occasion and got to an FA cup final albeit over a much longer period in the game.

pmsl - too fucking 'tired' If they get knackered travelling to London that's maybe one of the reasons we've never seen a mackem in Milan....3 hour flight man, I'd never have the energy to cheer me team after a journey like that

I guess it depends on which way you are coming from, certainly get a good view as you drive in from Walker along riverside route but get your general point.

Would hate to leave SJP and hope we never have to, it's our spiritual home, stuck on a hill in the heart of the city and visible from miles around. It's a proper football ground and it's location adds to the whole matchday experience. The thing that matters to me, is that if we did have to leave, I would like to see NUFC win or celebrate something while still at SJP. I could say goodbye if before she went I seen us celebrating something there. I want history (and the pictures) to record success and heady nights at the old SJP. It would be missing something (for me) if we celebrated our first success at a new ground - I would just be thinking of being back at SJP. I really hope we never have to leave the shrine. SJP is something special.

Fuck me they are a weird looking lot, it's like a scene from one flew over the cuckoos nest!

The ultimate NUFC legend, took NUFC on a rollercoaster of an adventure both as a player and manager.

Tonight Matthew, I'm gonna be Gary Barlow.

They deserve each other, sounds like a match made in heaven to me

Agree with the above comments. RTG has become a Q-Anon type site for radical, uneducated and extremist mackems. But they are as funny as fuck and a never ending source of entertainment.
-
Yeah, but he's ahead on boss difference cos he's not a cunt
-
100% this. He turned down jobs and was quite clear in coming here that his backroom staff came with him. He is a man of integrity and principals with his own football ideas, visions and beliefs - he would not have touched Ashleys poisonous regime.
-
As always on RTG, facts and reality are conveniently overlooked
-
It's all about opinions - I just think given the resources and players he's had he has not impressed.
