Yeah I’m not sure Wood is worth 25 though, triggering the clause was just the easiest way of getting him. I know where you are coming from though, £50m for an elite CB who can do it for 5/6 years isn’t a lot of money.

£10m for a loan is nuts when he’s probably attainable for that on a transfer being so close to the end of his contract. I understand that the player might not want to come here permanently atm though and Howe isn’t keen on relegation clauses.

Salisu and/or Carlos, a LB, Bissouma, Lingard and maybe another striker would be some end to the window. Squad would be almost completely transformed.

I will admit that I’ve only seen highlight videos of him like That’s interesting though, obviously over a full 90 mins he’s gonna look a bit more reserved than a 3 minute YouTube video. What did you think of him generally?

Such a risky appointment, has only ever managed in shit leagues that are dominated by 2/3 teams and the one time he did manage in a competitive league he got relegated

Hes sort of playing this DM/QB role for Howe but with probably more emphasis on the DM, I thought he was great yesterday defending around our box. If he was physically more gifted/fit he'd be a level above in that role than where hes at right now.

Doubt Allis mentality but I think Howes man management style could be well suited for him

Also note how high Joelinton is on that graph and hes only played that role since Howe came in, given a full season he could be top on that.

Pretty much what I think, I'd add that he does add extra value to us at the minute purely for how bad our midfield is.. at times we can bypass it with longball (ugh) and use his flick ons for ASM etc. He had a couple of nice flicks from Dubs kicks today and held up the ball nicely and relieved pressure well at key moments to. Also if he gets a decent headed chance in the box hes likely to bury it, less so with his feet.
